| Message | Just bought SV1000K3 naked. Gear lever fell off on first run. Tip: pivot nut requires a 17 mm spanner narrower than standard. Thin cycle spanners are good - £2 from Halfords. Fitted Suzuki sports screen. Works well for high speed touring - reduced wind blast but still keeps naked look. Seat position & bars excellent. Arranged tours in Ireland (2007) and Italy (2008). Fitting Givi panniers. Scorpion end cans on order for better noise with no ECU change. Also have GSXR1000K1 - makes interesting comparison. Same torque for both, both fast. GSXR more urgent from rest, but SV can blat from zero revs or really shift if held near peak torque. SV has distinct flex where GSXR is always solid. SV also has slight weave behind vehicles at motorway speed (tip: stay in front). SV fuel range seems to be 106 mls till warning light ie 12 out of 17 litres used. GSXR is much further - around 140 mls ie over 14 out of 18 litres used. Just need to run SV further which is OK provided there really is 17 litres in there. Nothing like a big V twin for sound and feel at low and high speeds though. GSXR may have some better numbers on paper, but SV gets ridden more. Great website esp tech articles. |

| Message | Gidday, Still love coming to the site and checking out goddies for the SV1KS. The mirror extensions have worked a treat, as has the Hamicad rear fender eliminator. Just about time for some more stuff. Have also put supermotard bars on the bike and love the result - more comfort and quicker handling, just what's needed with out roads over here. | Message | Just a quick update on "fitting a belly pan to a sv1000n". Where it says you should ask the dealer for the brackets to fit an S model belly pan to an N model bike...dont worry because they only make one set of brackets and they fit both the S and N models. |

| Message | hi I have rode my new sv 1000s over 70,000 miles it is the best bike every 22,000 miles first 2 months the bakersfield dealership fred cummings motorsports talked me out of a r1 by saying it would go 100,000 miles I said no way in 70,000 miles it has had zero engine parts only spark plugs, chains, brakes, air cleaners, oil filters and oil only one valve adj. this bike has never even had a clutch put in it about 30 tires was bought new in 2004 just can't imagine where this bike has been 25 states 3 countries and still will stand on end and pull a 200 foot wheelie has been ran over by ev ery state and fedral employe their is and they all hate it but I never had to walk once just the best bike in the world..the mess with this bike all the time and still runs good rockyd |
