MessageA/1/14 worked for 1SGT Patrick Rocco - 11D40 SGT and part time office worker. Lived in Haimbach with daughter and two daughters - arrived in Fulda in Mar 68. DEROS Mar 70 and on to Hawaii and the 25th Inf, 500th MI Grp and across the waters w/DEPCHIEFJUSMAGTHAI and some other interesting collections of men and missions. Did "bungle in the jungle" and am still here to tell about it.
Joe August from CA was the best (American) fussball player I saw in Germany. Learned to curl up just right on the hood of a jeep to keep warm and maybe catch a snooze. Hung out with Dave Peterson and his wife Maile, along with the Costello/Sullivan dynamic duo from HQ company. Favorite entertainment was the band "Sylvia" who did great versions of The Letter (Boxtops) and of course, "Love Potion #9".

Nuff said
