MessageGreat site guitar man! I am impressed with your outlook on life with everything you have been through. You are an inspiration - really! This is strange, almost too small of a world, but at one point in my early 20's it was suspected that I might have a pituitary tumer. This is because of some female symptoms I was having and the elevated protactin numbers from the tests. I went on a hormone therapy and the numbers dropped. It was nothing.

Well, keep up the good work! Life keeps going and our job is to live it to the fullest! Keep practicing and scrabbling!

MessageThanks for sharing the info. My son is almost 21 and
is in the process of being diagnosed. He has low testosterone, and his endo. thinks it is related to his pit gland. He had some more tests today, and may have to have a MRI. He was ok until he went through puberty, and then gained weight, was tired and depressed a lot. We will be glad when this is all over. At least he will know what it is!

MessageAndy, what a generous and wonderful man you are! No. I am not talking about the pens. I am talking about your willingness to share yourself, your challenges and your strength with the entire global community.

My family has had adventures with Addison's, Cushings, chemically active pituitary tumor and thyroid issues. What you and others sharing your particular challenge face puts ours in some perspective.

Thank you!

MessageHi Andy!

Wonderful site. Such fabulous information on symptoms and the range of emotions and experiences one goes through when learning they have a pit tumor.

I wish I had come across this when I was first diagnosed. Instead, I've found it while locating information for friends on the macroadenoma I had removed a year and a half ago. (Well, the majority of it - that connected to the artery will just have to stay where it is and we'll try to live in harmony!)

Luckily for me, somehow I haven't (so far) suffered any long term effects, although mine was about 1" x 1" in size at the time of surgery. I don't know how I escaped the trials and tribulations many others have had to face, but I am thankful and can certainly appreciate what others have gone through.

I wish you continued health and happiness!

MessageHowdy Andy. I have Acromegaly. My tumor was removed last November; it secreted/secretes growth hormone. My tumor was large, so from what I am discovering, what they did was debulk it. I take hydrocortisone daily also and Levothyroxine. Reading stories like yours gives me hope. Thanks smilie

MessageHi,

I had my pituitry tumour removed in 1979, it's been tough at times but I have had wonderful support from my wife and family and the same from my medical carers.

Your spirit is an example to us all and I wish you continued health and success in your career.

You have a neat web site also.

Take care,

Stan

MessageI've been panhypopituitary since 1994. I take all the same medicines you do. Just wanted you to know there's others just like you going through the same things. Feel free to e-mail me any time.

Thanks,
Mike
