MessageWe live in Lubbock, Texas and have just moved to the country where we have found several small Horned lizards in our back yard. We don't want to capture them but would like to make our yard VERY horned Lizard friendly. That means living areas, food and water. Any suggestions? we'd like to help them thive here!

MessageThis is a most excellent site! I recently acquired a pair of Desert Horned lizards from the Mojave Desert (Yermo, CA near Barstow). I reside in Temecula CA, north of San Diego and have seen a few of the coastal variety of HR near my home and there is a great source of ants. If my pair do not appear healthy, I will release them here. Chat later...

MessageI am so thankful I found this website. I have recently purchased 2 horned lizards. I have several years reptile experiance, and felt I was ready for a more chalenging spiecies. I am glad that there is so much information available to help me care for them properly. I don't know if I have boys, girls , or one of each. Is there a way to tell by pores, coloratin, hemipenile bulges ? would I have to get the vet to do probe to sex them? They were together in the same cage at the store and were not agressive toward each other. If they are both boys would they be aggresive or not to each other? Then again if one of them lays eggs I guess I will know for sure. Jill Lundy
