| Message | The night before the accident I was granted the opportunity to speak with Billy for the first time in what seemed to be years. I think his last words to me were something like “I’ll talk to you tomorrow, bro”.
On Monday morning when I was told he had died in a motorcycle accident, I was in such a state of shock and disbelief – I couldn’t believe that my only friend had been taken from me, especially after we had just talked the night before.
God, I should have told him how much his friendship meant to me, and how much I respected and admired the man he had become while serving his country...
Mary, Bill, Rae, Paul – I love you all. You’re like family to me, and Billy was such a wonderful and caring person. I’ll always be grateful for having had his friendship.
