| Message | Just read Steve Birleys update on the 1st and 2nd XI's excellent performances for 28th June and speaking as a spectator that went down to Brixham to watch the 1st XI, I found his report brilliantly accurate and conveying the emotions of the day. I managed to get to Brixham after being caught up in slow Torquay holiday traffic when the 1st XI score was already standing at 54 for 4!! Brixham were bowling brilliantly and had our boys all over the place. Paul Nott came in as last man and steadied the ship. Paul made it all look so easy and was so relaxed. He just kept placing the balls and took the singles that pushed up the score to 115, which at least gave us a platform to bowl at. I didn't think for a minute that we had a chance until Brixham's first wicket went down and it was 7 for 1. The rest is history and Brixham couldn't believe the performance Bradninch's 1s XI boys had just put in. Despite their disappointment their good sportsmanship was great to see. Great entertainment. |
