MessageMam - are you and dad running around in your underwear with cans of Duff yet, now that the house is bairnless? At least you can watch Corras in peace smilie
I can't believe Bobby got the sack - I'm in official mourning. I hope Terry gets the job though, but then that's just cos I like him, not that I actually know anything about football. Keep me updated on how it goes though please. xxx

Mau - how exciting!! I'm sure its a natural anti climax thing to feel a bit down after you've done something as big as that but I'm pretty sure you won't be feeling anything like that in four months time!
Might I suggest a Spanish course smilie My aim is to get the entire family out here and speaking like pro's. Although I need to polish up quite a bit yet!

Ste, I got my guestbook from wwww.ultraguest.com
I think that's right anyway. I'm looking forward to reading how life is in Murcia with you too! And enjoy Stockholm!

To Hannah,
Oh my god thankyou for the info. I'm officially not going to shop in there ever again. It's pants anyway to be honest, and there's another supermarket nearby thankgoodness. Are you doing a blog Han? How was camping with Juicy Portions, Ben and wor Jacob?
I'll try and get on msn more so we can have a chat smilie

Got to go and have some sort of food before I go to my five hours solid of lectures (or colouring in...for crying out loud...)
Take care all of you and thankyou for letting me know how you're getting on!

MessageYay I have post! How good!

To Chris and Jay-Arr, I was saddened to read about your thwarted attempt to find tranquility in Kielder due to Charver madness. May I suggest bringing a loud cd player next time and playing some indie, as a kind of music repellant? Failing that, you could always don a tracksuit, change your names to Gavin and Dazza and join em. smilie Or maybe not...

El Vroomo,
I hope all is going well on the bike front and you iz lookin well biker chick in your leathers. I have investigated the mexican crumpet situation and am quite upset to report that there is no such thing here. This, however, could also be seen as a very large gap in the mexican breakfast market. Perhaps there is a lot of money to be made, bringing muffins to the masses? Maybe you could 'do a Che' and bike up and down Latin America distributing them? If you need a spanish speaking business partner you know where I am. Sod Uni. Lets make muffins!

smilie

To Frannie,
Am v. excited for you for tonight - photos of the night and a big email would be appreciated!! Are you going to use the banners you made? By all accounts the venue sounds fantastic too, so keep me updated, and don't do anything I wouldn't do smilie

Mammy, hope all is well at work and that there is an improvement of a door on the toilet situation.
I have finished all of Six Feet Under now so do you want me to send you the disc? Its SO good!! (Sorry...but it is!) CONTINUED....

MessageWAL MART UNCOVERED!

anna my dear im glad you feel how rubbish wal mart are in your gut, but now its time to know the facts! it is the biggest retailer on the planet, bigger than most national economies. this in itself isnt necessarily a bad thing, but wal marts growth method, in the states at least, involves moving into small towns and due to their super-low prices, force many local, independent firms to go out of business. once they have a complete monopoly they close the store, and locate a new one in another small town nearby to start the whole process again. THUS the people in the original town have no choice but to travel to the new wal mart. so basically they force smaller, less powerful businesses to close down.

Whatsmore, Walmart are anti-unions, that is to say they dont like their workers having collective power (ie to strike against poor working conditions). Also, control is centralised, ie there are a very few people with a lot of the power.

why are the products so cheap? cos they underpay their workers, (ie use sweatshops).

hope thats of some help. support co-operatives!
love you xxxx

PS STE: im leaving tomorrow....see you in spain baby!

MessageHi Anna!
I did the long awaited deed today and phoned my boss to put in my notice. It's odd but after looking forward to doing it so long I felt a little bit down afterwards. smilie I must be crazy - or just institutionalised having been working all the hours God sends for years. smilie My boss was very nice and said all the right things about how I would be missed and what great work I had done etc. Actually he started talking about doing part time consultancy work immediately - but I don't want to get sucked into doing just as much again but on a free-lance basis. I still have 4 months to go before I leave on 31 Dec and plenty of work to get through before then.
After that I will be starting a new life smilie walking, reading, gardening and travelling whenever I feel like it. I might even enroll on a day or night class - something wildly impractical. I am still looking forward to visiting you in Mexico.
I hope your move went well!
Love
Mau

MessageDear Annie

We haven't heard from you for a few days so I guess you're in the process of moving. At the moment the house is bairnless (bairn not brain) because after a short stop over Frances has disappeared again to Leeds. She is keeping you informed of events no doubt. We now have no door on the toilet as well as the bathroom so visitors must learn to whistle when on the loo smilie How long this state will last is uncertain but hopefully will be rectified before your return.
Me and Dad are suffering withdrawal symptoms from 6 Feet Under because our DVD will not recognise Jake's discs and Fran's laptop will only play the soundtrack-Jake is there anything you can do? Perhaps when our computer arrives Jake can give us advice on downloading.
I'm determined not to be control freak Mam and give you unwanted advice so your on your own chick. I'm sure you can handle things yourself. I promise not to ask you: 1. Have you done your washing yet? 2. Have you got your passport back? 3. Did you get some Art materials? 4. Have you moved in with Rosa yet? There-I've got that off my chest!
Joseph and Peter came on Sunday so I had the excuse to watch Jungle book again. He is starting school this week so look forward to bulletins from Peter. Hopefully he will send you a photo of him in his new uniform.
No news yet as to Bobby's sucessor but Terry Venables is the latest in the Frame.
Lunch over so I must go.
Speak to you soon .
Love
Mam xxx

MessageHi petal,

Sorry for the delay, but wild times in work are hopefully over. smilie (That's me staggering about, that is).

I'm totally impressed by how you've stormed Mexico so far... new friends-check; new house-check; dancing 'til dawn-check; being chased in the street (like the Impulse ad) by possibly hot guys-check. Anna, you GO girrl! smilie

[AND you've sorted out your classes] smilie

Your website is fab and sooo entertaining. I hope the house move went well and I assume you'll be tucking into toast soon (that poor child and her lack of toasted bread experiences... something has to be done!)
Is there a mexican version of the crumpet?

I'll write soon with news of motorbike madness. Meanwhile you keep livin it large in the Americas.

Lots of love

El Vroomo

MessageMe and James decided to get away from it all this weekend and go camping in the Kielder Forest. What we didn't realise was that half the charver families in Newcastle had had the same idea. The campsite was surrounded by pine forest and would have been very tranquil if it wasn't for the regular erruptions from our neighbours shouting things like 'Wayne you little shit stop hitting Chantelle with the mallet or I'll belt ye inta next week!'

Still, we did get to do some good walking and feel very virtuous and it only rained about 50% of the time, which believe me, is an improvement on how it has been recently.

Chris xx
