MessageShane, It is so good to hear that your are feeling better and having a good week. We hope each and every week continues to be a better one. smilie smilie This weather is so nice so it is good you feel up to enjoying it.
Some gophers you just can't get. I had one smart one that finally took a wrong turn and made a hole in Blaze's stall in the barn. Being the hyperactive wonderful horse she is, I wasn't surprised to see the gopher dead in there a few days later. Would you like to borrow her??? smilie
Have a great weekend!

MessageTrisha and others wondering about Cord,

I'll be happy to post something on here as I learn it, or you could send questions to [email protected]. Cord also has a Web site, and his family hopes to update information on it when possible: cordmccoy.com. Go to the news section, then click on the update link.

Things are still looking up. I stopped by the hospital this evening, and there are a lot of positive things. They're not allowing as many visitors today because they believe there was some added stress in that for him because he had so many visitors yesterday.

The surgery went well, and Cord has been improving rapidly. He's been speaking some, though the extent of his injury and the medication he's on has limited that some. They've done tests on him, and he's done well with those.

He's still in ICU, but the family is hoping he'll be out of there Wednesday. It all depends. As you can understand, he's doing much better, but it's all relative. When he was kicked, there is actually a circular break in his skull, and that inner circle was pushed toward his brain. The surgery was to relieve pressure and to pull that piece of bone back in place.

If you'd care to send wishes to Cord, please feel free to send them through my e-mail. I will take them to the hospital as I get them.

And Shane, keep grinding those spurs, kid. My daily prayers still point northward.

Ted

MessageHey Shaner

Sorry I woke you up today! Thought nap time was over bud! Thank you for letting us know about Cord. You have such a big heart. Going through all you go through and still time for everyone else. I tried to check on Cord today but they are not giving much info. I saw him on Saturday and he looked great as usual. I am just sick about what happened. We are sending our prayers there too. As always you and Hope are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you both soon

Trisha, Gage and Taylor

MessageHope and Shane,

Thank you for being transparent enough to admit that what your oncologist told you was kind of scary. Few of us are such spiritual giants that such news wouldn't cause fear.

Proverbs 3:5,6 keeps coming to mind. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

You are in a difficult situation where man's wisdom seems to have run out of alot of options. Obviously your own understanding of options is also pretty limited at this point. So His instructions are not to depend heavily on your own understanding, but to remember who He is and what is true about Him. Trust Him. Don't focus strictly on your circumstances; Peter sank when he took his focus off of Jesus and onto his circumstances. This is hard work.

We are praying widom for you and Hope to know the the right path to take and that you both feel God's loving presence surrounding you.

MessageDear Shane,

I am so happy to hear that you are doing so well. I will definitely put Cord McCoy in my prayers. He was out here in August for the Paso Robles Challenger. Hang in there.

MessageKeep your chin up Shane, you have come SO FAR... Soon the back will quit hurting, and you can be out playing with Daisy, and not have to worry about hurting the next day... You are an inspiration to many...

God Speed on your recovery!

MessageHey, Drurys,

I chatted with Chad and Lonnie today at the rodeo. Lonzo got on tilt on the second jump and stayed, but it was good to see him. And it was nice to hear that Chad's in OKC.

I figure the prospects of no chemo is both scary and a relief, but I feel confident in your surgeons, in your toughness, in your ability to quickly heal and in the power of prayer. We'll all see you through this.

Give me a shout sometime. Thanks for the continuous updates. They're awesome.

Ted

How's everything going? I'm doing fine. Mom's been keeping me up to date on your progress. It sounds like you are doing well, hang in there.

Right now I'm on vacation til the 4th of Oct smilie.
Today we sold all of our calves and I got to babysit Taren while Shawn helped smilie. He and I had a great time sitting in the pickup watching the cows and calves.

Take care and May God Bless You smilie!
