MessageFirst symptom Jan 02 diagnosed May03 but MS was mentioned as early as June02. Not had too many problems so far- mainly aching/fatigue as a leftover from the first/long relapse. Have difficulty knowing or getting confirmation of what does/doesn't count as a relapse-which is a problem as I am due to be assessed for DMDs in near future.
Work almost full time. Find MSRC and other such sites a big help as I am not generally that open about having MS to many people. Not only does it provide reliable info (and lets face it not all info out there is good!) but helps me not to feel so isloated. smilie

MessageDiagnosed with RRMS in Dec/97. Depending on the severity of the attacks, I have weekness in legs, arms and numbness in both. I go from wheelchair to walker to cane most times. Have been on Prednisone only, not interested in taking the Drugs out there. Am very grateful I came accross your website. I had heard of the diet but always kept putting it off, until this past Christmas. I suffered severe attack that put me back in a wheelchair (not for long though). I thought It's now or never...and it hasn't been so bad (of course this is my first day only smilie ). Is their such a thing as Rice Chocolate? My Body is my Temple, My Body is my Temple...
Love your website, thanks to all involved. Grace smilie

MessageBlessings! My daughter, 36 yrs old, approx 98 lbs. Up until 3 months ago she was full of life, sports active etc. She has a 11 year old daughter. She one day complained of stiff neck, tired, muscles hurting. After Christman thing starting to get worse. Her muscles spasmed so tight and she has no control, unless she take the medicine for relaxing. Once the med hits, she is able to move a little better. She had a MRI today. I spoke to her earlier, and she said that she was getting muscle pressure over her heart. I am in fear that it is MS. I will not know until Tuesday. Myself, I have had three strokes, the doctors thought at one time I did have MS. Any advise could be a blessing. May the Lord of comfort and peace be with all.

MessageHi folks, My name is Lesley and I live in Edinburgh though I've lived in Scotland for 36yrs. I was born in manchester so I'm not one of the scottish statitics! I do belong to another group that I have been interested in noticing how many are represented. Among my M.S. friends and aquaintances there many are nurses, like myself, or belong to another medical profession. In my 'dive' at the O2 unit at one time out of seven customers over half were ex-nurses, four of my closest friends were nurses. Are there any demographic statistics showing the incidence of M.S. by occupation?
After I was told the diagnosis, (after a few months wingeing!) I left work, I started yoga again, in a chair, started meditation, became a Buddhist, a vegetarian and cancelled a very stressful relationship.....and began to get happier and better.
I used to be a very active hillwalker and losing that was like a bereavement. Reading this Pathways I was actually in tears reading Tessa Watkiss going up the mountains again. I enjoy reading Pathways more than anything, it is so good reading about people taking charge of their lives, Best wishes to all, Lesley smilie smilie
