Message | Deron -As always, I look forward to checking your blog site. No news on your mom must mean that things are progressing as expected for this moment in time.
Since I am one of those who have found your attitude and perseverance "inspiring", it was interesting to read your comments on what you think is truly inspiring. Probably none of us is ever inspired by our own behavior - would seem rather egotistical - but I think you can have an inspiring impact on others even as you react in the only way you think is reasonable or possible. That very action reminds others to deal with their stuff, to examine their faith, to look at the broader picture, to make the most of the moment, etc. I went to the dictionary and looked up inspire - found words like "having an animating effect upon; influence or impel; to motivate; to arouse or produce a thought or a feeling." So rest assured that you are indeed having an effect on those around you, inspiring others to persevere, to trust, to appreciate and live life fully while we have the opportunity. Good mood or bad, the key is that you endure, finding good and challenge regardless of circumstances. Most people face more mundane struggles than torture, persecution, etc. - seeing people survive extremes in faraway settings is indeed inspirational but is somewhat remote from the experience of most. Facing illness and an uncertain future is something more can immediately identify with. Thanks for honestly sharing your journey with us. |
