MessageThank you for your films. They are each modern masterpieces and all affected me deeply. Most recently and probably most profoundly The Fountain is a transcendental triumph and an amazing work of cinematography. Keep it up!

MessageJust wanted to say hi and let you know how much I have enjoyed your films. I also must say above all, The Fountain is definitely one to stick with me...the move and the score was amazing. Thanks again and hope to see more in that realm.

MessageI'm gearing up for my yearly winter ritual viewing of the Fountain. I heard recently that there are possible plans to redo the film and make it the success that it should have been. If these plans are in fact in the future then I felt the need to offer this encouragement. The Fountain, as it is, is an autumnal masterpiece which has spoiled all "gritty", shaky-camera docu-style filmmaking for me. A film whose theme is bound up mostly in its visuals and acting as vulnerable as its subject matter makes this the only film I can actually take seriously enough to allow it to deal with the subject of death. If the film is to be redone, so be it, but don't forget what makes it amazing in the first place. The critics need to change, not you. Some of us are still dedicated to open emotion and vulnerability in films (and especially Sci-Fi). Some of us are sick of 'understatement' and washed-out color palettes. In the world of modern Sci-Fi Children of Men misfires, the Fountain ascends.

MessageDear Darren,
I am 13 years old and your movie Requiem of a dream inspired me to become a film maker. I absolutely loved it! Every scene is filled with absolutely beautiful symbolism and the themes are just so meaningful! You are my role model and one day, you will see my movie premiering

MessageHi - I'm trying to reach out to Darren or someone on his team to get a screener of the Wrestler for our talent @ TNA Wrestling. I am the Chief Marketing Officer for the company. We have our next TV tapings Dec 15th and 16th in Orlando and it'd be great to sit down with our talent early in the day and screen it for them. We would like to have some segments on our show airing December 18th with our vet talent commenting on the film like Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash etc..all unpaid free promo for the film. We think wrestling fans will appreciate the commentary and it will help the film with our fans. I'd need it by this Friday to set something up for the gang. I can be reached at email at sallison@tnawrestling.com, office 615-244-5557 ext 111 or cell 773-610-1260. Unlike our competitor we celebrate the world "wrestler" and I think it's good for your film as well. Please get in touch, hoping this reaches you.

MessageDarren,
You may not remember me but several years ago you contacted me about placing your napkins in my establishment when you brought your movie "pi" to the Sundance Film Festival. Even though I had never heard of you at the time ( and of of course shortly after knew who you where because of pi and Requiem for a Dream) I happily allowed you to place your advertisement in my Restaurant and Bar. We had several candid phone call conversations about your "dream" to become a successful film director.I have not heard from you for a long time because you became a very successful person and your dreams came true. God Bless you and I am so happy for you. But now I have a request for you, I have a Son who just recently graduated from Film School and who thinks you are a special person in the industry who has not become someone who has followed the pack to success. He has the utmost respect for you. I am asking you to help my Son simply by meeting him and speaking to him about how he can become a success. His "dreams" are very different from yours, I think, in that he does not have any desire to become a Hollywood success (but to really make a difference in the world by making films that help humanity) You may have the same dreams and I am not disparaging that dream of yours, only trying to tell you that he seems different in the way that his success seems to have nothing to so with money but what he can do for humanity. His name is Jake 435-640-9036.Park City Thanks.Cissy@ Ciseros
