MessageHello everyone,

Glad to see that we are doing ok during the pre-season. what has happened to Mark Walters the right back?
My pre-season training hasnt been going too well as i caught a virus up in the Himalayas 4000m so been in and out of hospital for a few days, but nearly recovered now. I will get back to traing in the next couple of days.

Mick, i am hoping to come and catch some of the second game against sittingbourne if my flight arrives on time. But i wont be available v dulwich either as im away in centre parcs which will be much needed as this trek is really taking it out of me. Altitude is bloody though!!!! After Dulwich i will be back to training and should be available for selection after a few hard weeks of trainig, maybe play some reserve games up to you.

Tell the lads that i will be thinking of them come saturday 17th August v whyteleaf and all the best for the remainder of pre-season and start of the season. I cant wait to get back to playing and putting on that merstahm jersey!!!!

All best

Simmo

MessageSorry to hear that Andy if you’re at a loose end any time let me know if you fancy an evening down at Merstham FC.
As for our pre-season it’s been slow progress due to players not available and holidays more than ever this year for some reason. I’m sure that’s why some of the performances have not been of the standard we are used to.
However having said that we are not losing to sides which are up for the game and i take positives from this. The next two games will be the biggest test if we come through them with better performances then we are heading in the right direction for Aug 16th.
Also we have had to get the new players games some I’m sure will bolster the squad some wont. Again bearing in mind no k, smithy, hillbillies, simmo, greeno, that’s a big miss on last year’s squad hopefully everyone will understand and support the current squad.

MessageMick,
good luck this year .. I have parted company with BGFC as other things have cropped up this year.. I hope that BGFC do well this year and think that you will be in the top 8 as I said last year though there are a lot of teams in that level play the ball long, get in behind then play football from there.

Good luck mate,
Andy

MessageThanks for the nice comments from our friends at Camberley FC.
As for how the Pre-Season is shaping up a bit frustrating as i have not fielded any thing like my 1st Team from last year in any of the games as yet.
But the positives are some good prospects in the making hopefully they will await there chance in the coming weeks/months.
PS WELL DONE TO BARRY/BRETT AND THE TEAM FOR MAKING ANOTHER EAST SURREY HOSPITAL CUP RESERVE FINAL

Message3-0 defeat to Three Bridges tonight. Team was mostly triallists and reserve team players although skipper Craig Vernon was back for his first game after what looked like a good holiday. smilie
