MessageI am seeking to identify a wreck or standing subsequently salvaged of a small coaster or barge that went agound under Hordle Cliff, Christchuch Bay, Hants UK in the early 1950's
It was maybe about 150 ft long, 4ft draft, 4ft freeboard, single prop say 30" diesel engine, small wheelhouse aft.
Black verical sides, and flat bottom enabling her to sit more or less upright on the beach.
This vessel was NOT the Lamorna.

Does anyone have any ideas? Hyrdographer and Lifeboat have drawn a blank.

MessageHello Tony, Kevin here from Tampa. I've been going through your site and I have to say this is one of the most informative sites I've come across in a long time. It hooked me from page one and I had to read every page on here. Well done man. Hope to meet you someday.

MessageAm former coast guardsman and served aboard cutter Bibb WPG 31 from late '62 until early '65. Have ship's insignia patch that was designed by an MM2 in '63, and thought that a picture of it might fit in well with the Bibb,s historical data that,s now available on U.S.C.G. web site

MessageHi Tony,
A friend of mine found a photo of the 4-masted barque Eudora, which seems to be credited to you? I had been looking for a good picture of it for ages. My great uncle sailed on her and she was sunk off the Fastnet in 1917. Could you tell me where I could get a good print of this ship?
Many thanks. John Goggins, Dublin, Ireland.

MessageHi Tony,

I've just noticed a "wreck" website where your name appears with details of the wrecking of the Jervis Bay at Bilbao in 1984. I was, at that time, a sea-going OCL marine engineer who dropped twice by helicopter to help repair broken towlines before finally reaching Bilbao. I flew home the day before the disaster.

I wondered at your association/interest in the incident?

Regards

Allan

MessageHi Tony,
We've met, years ago. I am an Ex Brit Charter Skipper from Littlehampton UK and former member of PBA. Now US citizen in Connecticut and fleet safety manager for large tug company operating east and Gulf coast. Fishing Long Island and Block Island Sounds for fun. Sorry to hear of the build problems with new boat. She looked ideal! I hope the oil is not going to have a lasting effect? Best of luck going forward. If you are ever in NY or Connecticut areas, give me a call. If i am not travelling, maybe we could meet for lunch or something?
Best regards. Eric Knott (formerly owner/skipper Jenifer's Pride) cell 203 258 6103
