| Message | Dear family of one of the best friends any man can have.I was recently talking to Melanie @ Ryans fund raiser on Nov 19/06 and she told me about this web site.Here is something I would like to share with you.(Ode to a Buddy)WAY UP IN FORT ST JOHN ONE COLD NOVEMBER DAY,IN THE DOG HOUSE RYAN PENNY LAYS AND AS WE GATHERED AROUND HIM MISTAKING HIM FOR DEAD HE OPENED UP HIS WEARRY EYES AND THIS IS WHAT HE SAID,I'M GOING TO A BETTER PLACE A FAR BETTER PLACE I KNOW WHERE A RUBY STUDDED BOOM LINE HANGES FROM A DIAMOND STUDDED POLE,WHERE THE DRAWWORKS IS SOLID SILVER AND THE ROTARY TABLE GOLD THE DIGGERS DIG THE DITCHES AND THE ROUGHNECKS MAKE THE HOLE.God speed my dear friend and let the wind be at your back and a smile upon your face. |

| Message | Well it's Ryan's benifit tonight - sure wish we were closer to give Melanie a hand. She has put so much hard work into this and Shirley has made the most beautiful quilt -I hope whoever wins this quilt can feel the warmth from the love that went into making it!! Ryan must be looking down and feeling so proud for all this hard work in his honor and I know he has to be happy about all those sales for the Lucky charms shirts!!!! | Message | I didn't really know Ryan all that well but I know a lot of his friends. He was the one guy that could walk into a bar and the place would be a buzz because he was there. Tonite, I saw a guy at who put me in the mind of him. "If only he had on a red shirt", I said to a friend of mine. "He would be Ryan on the spot". His presence brought so many smiles to so many people. Me included. Thank you for sharing your memories and thoughts with everyone who knew and loved him. |

| Message | My thoughts are with all of Ryan's family and friends today. I guess I really only knew Ryan for three years of junior high, but I knew him enough to know what a nice and funny guy he was. I remember in 8th grade, Mr. Lake's class, him and Malcolm throwing food out the classroom window so that seagulls would swarm the window. What a racket! I was in drama with him in 9th grade when we "performed" at MCHS. We were a pretty sorry bunch! He played Presley York, the rock star. Those practices were a lot of fun! He was a great guy and I'm glad to have known him. |
