| Message | Thanks Vonnie for all you do with your web site. I haven't really looked at or read it very often with my busy schedule, but I had to read the story about Jim Short. He touched my life for a short while before he left us all. My husband, Micheal, and I gave him a ride to the last Reunion he attended ('05.) I learned that a fellow Warrior, Jim, was in the close vicinity of our house and we offered to give him a lift. We had a great time chatting and talking about Yamato before my time('68-'71.) Never knew he was a "teetoteler." Never saw that side of him. Did see that Jim loved being in the family of Warriors and enjoyed every Reunion being able to connect with his impressionable young years growing up. Again, thanks for caring so much, Vonnie. |

| Message | I enjoy reading all your adventures Vonnie.  I know if I can't be at the reunions that you'll give the best account as to what was happening. Your so open and candid! The best kind of writer. I bet it has a lot of therapeutic qualities too! Just want to send you my best from "Crispy" Poway, CA! Yes we did evacuate, only a few miles from the fires, but thank God, came home to our home a few days later. We live on the Rancho Bernardo/Poway city lines. It's the second time now that we have come close. A most humbling experience. Hugs to you and I hope to make one of these reunions again.
