MessageFrom Ron Leigh [email protected] living in Ludlow .How lucky we are to have the splendid Omnes Amici website.I dip into it from time to time and just today learned the remarkable fact that our French teacher,Miss Lily Silk was at CGS, or its forerunners,as pupil or teacher from 1902 to 1953!
I now believe that my years in forms 1P,2P,3P,5P,6L from 1943 to 1948 were probably the most influential in my whole life. A quick recall of some of the fellow pupils I remember best includes : Harry Askham -George Beeley - Norman Broadley–Robert Dalton-Peter Harwood-Brian Holmes - Graham Howe - Peter McGregor-Palmer -Tom Stevenson-Trevor Vickers -Christine Beard -Jean Blackburn -Margaret Bowles- Frances Cantrell -- June Pinder - June Royles- Brenda Sawle- Dorothy Thornhill.
I should be delighted to receive an email from any
roughly contemporary CGS alumnus/a.
Once again, many thanks to Alan Lomax for providing Omnes Amici

MessageAttended CGS. from 1949 to 1955.
I have a lot of graatitude to the teachers and my best friend Sylvia Cheetham
There was a lot of snobbery among the pupils and one teaher in particular F.E FOSTER who made us all stand up and say what our father's occupations were.I remember one poor lad squirming and telling everybody 'my dad is a taxi driver and proud of it'.
I came from a family of 5 children and was ridiculed for not having a top of the range school uniform and satchel .Trivial now but at the time it turned me from a promising pupil to a rebel.
Never mind though all us 5 kids have had very prosperous lives despite not having the best material things in life when we were young.
Back to my schooldays. It was a wonderful education and lessons learnt then hold good today

MessageI was that quiet, shy bloke from Aussie who attended CGS from 1961 to 1963. The photo of Form 4Y brings back many memories (and names).
Returned to Australia to permanently reside in 1963. Currently at Noosa, Queensland, soaking up the sun, as usual. Had a great life here and am currently writing my memoirs (of which CGS is a part). Love any contact from past pupils. My email address is [email protected]

Best regards, Philip Procter

MessageHello to all and any students from the 1953 -1958 era.I cannot see any messages from them in the diary.Surely there must be survivors of the last 50 years since then who would like to make electronic or even physical contact.Would like to hear from any of you out there via Email at [email protected].
