| Message | 2-24-2007 I just happened upon your site and saw the name of Dan Aspromonte in researching my Grand mothers history I Have Come across the name of Grace Aspromonte who came from around the same place as my great Grandfather Joesph Piccoli who was born in Toricella Peligna, Chieti, Italy 12-19-1878, I am not sure of a relation but I do know that the 2 families were very close if not related Grace moved to Colorado and has a daughter Gina Apromonte-Piccoli in Durango Colo. | Message | I have exchanged mail with Al Porreca and Dan Asparmente about tracing my family history and it has been very helpful but has not produced any firm connections yet. My grandfather was named Nicola and was b.1876-according to his gravestone. The family story is that he and his father (name uncertain)went to Argentina to visit a brother/uncle who was an archbishop there. This would have been some time between 1895 and 1900. There was no Archbisop, but there was a Franciscan missionary named Porreca in Argentina at that time who died in 1896 and was fairly famous. The story goes that on the way back from Arg. they stopped to visit relatives in Pennsylvania-probably Phila.-and Nicola met my Grandmother and stayed and married her.He died in 1915. They lived in Pittsburgh. The children who lived to old age, in order of birth were- Vera, Inez, Emil, Julia and Edmund. Anyone with related information? porrecarl@yahoo.com   |

| Message | Hello. My name is Stella Narducci from Western Australia. My mothers name was Maria Teti born on 25/6/1904. Her mothers name was Caterina Palizzi and her fathers name was Berardino Teti. They were all born in Torricella Peligna. My mother had a sister called Erminia and she married Antonio DiRenzo in Torricella Peligna and then migrated to Philadelphia. They had 5 children Guiseppe, Caterina, Elinor, Albert and Rosina. My mothers brother Camillo Teti also migrated to Philadelphia and I think his wife's name was Filomena.We have lost contact with these families in America and would love to hear from them or from someone who knows of them.
