MessageWow this is great. I looked up my grandparents and other relatives that have passed in the cementary listing. This site brings back a lot of good memories from when I was a little girl visiting the town. Lots of buildings still look the same. Hope to someday visit with my family. Maybe they will love this town as much as I do. Keep the site going it surely means a lot to many people.

MessageMy Father and I have just found that my Great- Grandfather, Carlo DiMarino was born in Torricello in 1886 and died in Philadelphia, PA in 1923. Does this connect with anyone? I would love to connect with my distant relatives in Torricello.

MessageMy name is Don Padova and I am the great-great grandson of Antonio Di Padova, born in Torricella Peligna circa 1845, married to Antoinetta Fantini. I am related to Mariano di Marino, born 1811, the son of Eusebio and Maria Vincenza Teti and their children. I am travelling to Torricella and should be there about October 6-7, 2010. While researching our history, we believe Antonio was found, abondoned in Torricella Peligna in 1845, There is no record of his birth or Baptism. I did find ,however , from 1835 to 1844 about thirty infants found in Torricella by three women. Caterina di Paolo, Rosa Persichetti and Domenica Olivetti. We have believed that Antonio was raised by trhe family of son=meone with a name sounding similar to "Renaldo". I believe it could have been di Paolo. If anyone has any information or could explain anything about these three women or why the records of finding 'ABANDONED " children suddenly stopped, or what became of these children, I would be most appreciative. Thank you

MessageHello,

My grandparents are from Torricella. It was so fun to search your website. All of my family names were listed here. I'm particularly interested in my great grandmother, Virginia, who married Joe Papanarde(o) and lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA about 1940. I don't know her family name, and I "Papanarde(o) appears to be a "nickname". On this site, Pina Piccone's grandfather was Giuseppe Piccone. Is there any possibility that this might be a relative?? I look forward to a further communication.

MessageCiao!
I am a cousin of Irene DeLellis Lennon and can't wait to visit your beautiful town next year. We're looking forward to walking in the footsteps of our ancestors. Would you know where we could obtain birth records of our ancestor? We have the church record wher he was left as a foundling and the name Cavelli of the family who raised him. Would there be any additional information in the church records that might lead us to his birth record. Thank you so much for your response to cousin Irene about accomodations. We greatly appreciate your help.
Martha

MessageI understand my mothers family was from Torricella, their surnames were Piccone, Fallico & Petrocco. My Grandfather & Grandmother ended up living in Denver Colorado as did most of my mothers relatives, I live in Wenatchee Washington and have a fruit tree nursery and orchards. I plan on visiting Torricella this coming October as I travel thru Italy to see where my mothers family originated from.

MessageHello from Lakewood, Colorado! My mother and I wanted to sign the guest book. Her father, Dominico Teti and mother, Louisa DiPaolo were from Torricella and immigrated to America in the early 1900's. They settled in Henderson, Colorado where they had 9 children! Dominico passed away in 1961, and Louisa passed away in 1976. Most of their family is still in the Denver area. My mother is looking forward to visiting Torricella someday and meeting the family that is still there.
