Which Family Line?Noland
MessageRE: Noland Burials:
Pleasent C. Noland(1830-1901) is buried here, as well as a daughter, and Pleasent's Mother, Mary Noland (Died fall of 1853)

Mary was the wife of Smallwood V. Noland, of Independence, Jackson Co. MO.

Cemetery is gated, so inquire of the house at the foot of the hill as to access.

The stones of the Nolands are large, and Mary's dates to ( of course) 1854. Look for a LARGE pine tree near the hedge boundary at the top of the hill, The Nolands rest under that pine.

LOCATION

CRESWELL ASSOCIATION; Camas Swale Road 1ΒΌ miles west of Creswell, .6 miles south on Howe Lane
Cresswell, Oregon. Easy access via I-5

MessageI share an interest in the Noland line, and related lines. Especially the "Lost" Wagon Train of 1853, of which Pleasent Noland was a key figure.

Which Family Line?Owens, Robert
Was my information helpful?Very informative for me.
MessageI'm always looking for information regarding Robert, hard to come by. Robert is the father of Margaret Ellen Owens, who is my gg-grandmother. She married my gg-grandfather, Horace Jackson Minor.
There is a lot of history I would like too know about. Barbara Hartsook has been a tremendous help and I appreciate her expertise also.
Knowing about Thomas and his history is almost equal to finding information about Robert. It was a history of tragic events.

Which Family Line?Arrell
MessageI am very curious as to why the Arrell name is not listed. To my understanding, the Arrells, Frank and Lora, were hops farmers in Independence Oregon and most of the family lines still lives there today. Does anyone have any information on the Arrell family?
