MessageI have been in love with libraries ever since I could read. I remember stepping down from the bookmobile steps with way more books than I could carry. When our children were in school I worked at the school library; later I worked at a public library, and now I am in an academic library, both as an employee and student. There is nowhere I feel more welcome or at "home" (other than my own home). Although the concept of library is changing, the intellectual and emotional feelings remain the same. I have been, and always will be, a true library lover. I hope the film is a huge success. smilie

MessageI'm sure most bases have been touched in regard to every movie with a librarian in it- but I just saw an old movie with Robert De Niro and Jane Fonda where librarian is portrayed/literacy is a topic...did Ann Seidl have that one commented on in The Hollywood Librarian?

MessageWhere can we get the T-Shirts, hats, bags, towels, sports gear and underwear? I'm proud to be in a profession that values knowledge, and we need to let folks know that we can be fun-loving too! We are supposedly one of 2 camps (both angry): the "stereotypical prim and shushing librarian" or the purposely anti-thetical extreem left-wing raging multi-pierced, blue haired activist. It would be nice to show another side to a profession that represents people of all races, creeds and sexual orientations. smilie
