MessageThis is a great website. My grandfather and his brother were from Cork and were involved in the war.

Michaela McDonald. I saw your Guestbook entry and I believe that my grandfather and his 7 brothers and 1 sister are the folks you are looking for. They did not get executed but quickly fled to the US after some sort of raid on a barracks. I would love to know more about that. There is a whole crew of relatives here in the US. Drop me an email I'm very interested to know how you know my family.
Webmaster its ok to share my email address with Michaela McDonald please.

Following on from Bill Mackey's comment about the Easter Lily sticker. In Ed Molony's book "A secret history of the IRA" the reason given that the Official IRA in Belfast were first called the "Stickies" is that they brought out a new sticker Lily whereas previously it had been pinned to one's apparel!

MessageAs a child I lived in Killeagh where my father was local Garda sergeant from late 50s to early 60s. There was the ruin of a Big House up the hill from the Garda Station where we lived called Dromdiah House. I presume it was burned down in the WoI. Does anyone have the full story. Also was there an RIC barracks in Killeagh. Reading Tom Barry atm.
