| Message | Hi! I’m Teresa Green Martin from Huntsville Al. My Dad is Roy Green from Blue Ridge/Galloway Georgia in Fannin County. His relatives were A J Green ( Andrew or Andy) and John o Green. They inherited about 100 acres in Fannin co for service in the Civil War( I think that was from Thomas Green). We still own land there. I’m trying to connect us up with the Green from Rhode Island who immigrated from England which I think would put me in your line of family also. Any help would be SO appreciated ! | Message | Hello: My family has gone under the surnames Calvert, Colvard and Colbert ever since my 7th GG Christopher Calvert was transported from Northamptonshire, England to Accomack Co, VA in 1636 by William Bibby. My 8th GG John Pennell/Panewell/Pinnell/Pinion (variant spellings) was also born in Northamptonshire, England and arrived at Accomack Co, VA in 1641.John had a brother named Thomas who also arrived in 1641. He moved to Somerset Co, Maryland (across colony line from Accomack Co, VA) and raised a large family. Our two families, along with the Bibby family, have been together ever since. The Pinnell/Pinion family and my family have lived in Bute (Franklin/Warren) Co, NC since 1768, or 249 years. My 3rd GG Thomas Colbert/Colvard married Vashty Pinnell, daughter of John Pinnell. A branch of my family moved to Wilkes/Surry cos, NC around 1770 and lived next to the Tyree family. (William Colvard bought the Tyree Old Field Plantation). In his will of 1824, William Colvard gave plantation to his son Wade Hampton Colvard. Thomas Pinion/Pinnell of Franklin Co., NC also moved to Wilkes Co, NC in mid- to late- 1700's. | Message | I am trying to get proof of my Cherokee ancestor , Robin Moytoy married to Rowland Judd. These are my 5th great grand parents.My grandmother was leola Winkler married to Zebulan Vance farthing of Boone, NC, Elizabeth Judd married Benjimin Pennell my 4th great grand parents. John Winkler and Mary Pennell are my 3rd great grandparents. Joshua Winkler and Caroline Pearson are my 2nd great grandparents, John Winkler and Lelia Taylor are my great grandparents, Leola Winkler and Zebulan Vance Farthing my grand parents, John H Farthing is my father. |
