MessageHi, thanks for sharing your story. I had retinal tear surgery 6 weeks ago and still have distorted vision with wavy and fading lines although the doctors are saying that everything is great with the retina, macula etc which I truly find hard to believe. Was wondering if with time those indeed went away in your case? I would be very grateful if you could find time to respond. Many thanks!

MessageHello dear!
I'm really inspired and motivated by the story because the same is happening to me. I would love to ask for your help. Would you please send me the email address of your Japanese doctor? I'd like to contact him and discuss my problem with him.

Thank you so much!

MessageI have retina reattachment surgery in a few days, im terrified, my retina has been detached for over a year, i can see light but thats it, my vision has always been very bad but complete blindness is my biggest fear, i know ive waited so long that i probably wont regain much if any sight, i would do anything in the world to have bad eye sight ive lived with all my life back, i took the little sight i did have for granted, now i am thankful for the sight i have because i couldn't imagine it any worse, bad sight is better than no sight ... i wish you a great recovery , your story gave me a little hope

MessageHi. I would love to see a post on how you are seeing after these years have passed since your retina surgeries. I had mine in September (3 months ago) and 6 weeks later had an in-office procedure in my other eye to prevent it from detaching as well. That procedure was not fun but the recovery time was only a couple of days and I can see normally out of that eye. The other eye that had the major surgery, things just look weird. My optometrist can't seem to get my prescription right. I can't judge depth very well and as a mountain biker, that causes me to crash way more than I used to. Thank you for your story. I am so sorry you went through all of that. Please post how your vision is doing now. I hope it is much better and back to normal or close. smilie

MessageSorry that you have had to endure the detachments and glad that you are recovering. I too have had retinal detachments in both eyes at different time but not just one, three in each since December 2007. I am currently recovering from my third RD in my left eye and feeling sorry for my self when I read your article. Helped me feel better. Good luck for the future. smilie

MessageThank you, from the bottom of my heart for sharing this. Knowing that there are people out there who are also dealing with this and are succeeding in adapting to the psychological and physical boundaries this sickness sets, makes it a bit easier to endure.

MessageHad a retina detachment 12/29/14 followed by 3 tears jan 2015 in same eye. I go back every week which are considered panic visits but I have these flashes constant in same eye and dr says im ok.
I am having trouble coping with this. I feel like damaged goods. Thanks for your story, it does make me feel a little more positive. Im trying anyway.

MessageThanks for sharing your experience.

I just had an operation to fix my detached retina (macular off) on my left eye. and now "recovering".

Same problem as everyone else, with the blurriness and distortions.

Mine are not that bad, but this is all relative. Trying to see over the next 6+ months how much i can recover thru eating healthier for the eyes, doing acupuncture, reiki and positive prayers.

MessageJust found this as I'm 4 weeks into being treated for a detachment and was looking to see if the distortions were normal. I hope things have improved. Thank you for sharing.
All the best,
Rob
