| Message | Hello. I just had the same procedure performed on my right eye. It was totally dumb luck that I went I decided to stop by the ER that fateful day. I had noticed over the previous week that I was losing vision but it had happened before and then went away but this time the blind spot was crossing to the center of my nose and as I was passing the hospital entrance I thought oh what the heck all they will say is it's nothing so go home. Well the first doc saw me and that my retina appeared detached and I've needed to get the head doc and within minutes they were back and did a sonogram and the head doc said if this was an emergency since it was on its way to full detachment. Yup I was now scared as hell I immediately went to an optometrist and then he sent me to a surgeon. I had surgery the next day. Everything went well. Also I was fortunate that the first week I only had to sleep on my left side for 24/7 and this week on my left side 50%oand my nitrous oxide bubble is over 50% smaller- it's been 2 weeks now since surgery and I feel I'm lucky to be getting blurry vision over the bubble full range but impatient to get my full vision back. My doc had said that since my detachment was so large I may lose my sight completely so I may be lucky to just get blurred vision. I'm am staying positive and so thankful a little voice told me to stop by the ER. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
