MessageYou'll be missed by so many not only in the MMA community, but also in the Mauy Thai community here in Ontario. You did a lot for the promotion or the Martial Arts, and we'll always appreciate and remember you for that.
Thanks so much.
R.I.P.

MessageI only ever saw Shawn Tompkins on TV, but even then you could tell he was one heck of a coach and just how he talked to fighters, especially Mark Hominick against Jose Aldo, I saw that he was someone who cared and knew his stuff. My condolences to his family and friends for your loss. I can't imagine your pain to have lost someone who I'm sure was such an amazing person in your lives. May you rest in peace Shawn.

MessageHi Tompkins family, I am very sorry for your lose. I trained many years ago under Shawn and Fred in Tilsonburg when they first opened there club. Shawn was only 4 years older than me but was someone that I could look up to and taut me alot most of all was self confidence. Back then we were a small club and close. He took us to his parents house to meet them as well as train in there back yard in Corinth by the tracks, we all went to small local karate competions and he supported us all even if we didn't do so well. We had a local karate demonstration team which i was captain of the first time I had ever been captain of a team. As we grew up work endevors took us away from each other. I occassionally thought of Shawn and wanted to try to communicate with him again like old times and now i am truly sorry I didn't. Shawn always saw potential in everyone one ,he will truly be missed !

MessageShawn didn't just teach his students how to fight in the ring, he taught them to fight for their dreams- in all aspects of life. His life and his lessons will never be forgotten. RIP

MessageTo Shawn's family:
I trained with Shawn at MAC in Tillsonburg 1986-87. He was a very motivated youth and always brought a smile to my face with his enthusiasum, talent and respect.I ran in to him a few times in the past years and he was an exact replica of his youth.I was looking forward to introducing my MMA interested teenage son, Tobin,to him, knowing that Shawns values would be a benefit to his life. I only know Fred in your family but I wish my sincerest condolences to all of you.
Deepest Respect,
Conn Froese

MessageWhat can be said other than I am devastated by the news of Shawn's passing. Consumate professionnal, astute comentator (at one time for TKO and at others for the Fight Network) he brought to MMA and the Fight game altogether a sharp and distinct angle. His fighters reflected his grit and savvy in the ring, but his respect for the sport outside of the ring. As a coach and strategist he easily ranks up there with the Greg Jacksons, Mark Dellagrottes, and Pat Miletichs of the MMA world. I sincerely hope that his fighters will carry on and promote Shawn's legacy well into the future as they are well capable of.

It is with a sad heart that I say Rest In Peace Shawn Tompkins. May you be blessed by all of the Gods!

MessageI'm very sorry to hear this! About 6 months ago I sent shawn a message on facebook telling him I was a big fan of his work. He got my address and sent me an autographed picture and a team tompkins t-shirt which was so awesome of him to take time to do! These things are even more special to me now! My prayers and condolences go out to the people who were truly affected by this his family and close friends! R.I.P. Shawn Tompkins his spirit will live on!
