| Message | Having lived in London, On for my entire life; and having been a die hard MMA fan for well over a decade - for years now the name Shawn Tompkins has been spoken in the same humbled tone as the great NHL coaches of my generation - Scottie Bowman, Pat Burns etc. "The Herb Brooks of Striking" if you will. Thanks for having a hand in 3 of the most memorable fights I have ever witnessed (Stout-Fisher 1&2, Hominick-Aldo) and for doing your part to put London On onto the MMA map. God Bless and Rest Well. |

| Message | I am so sorry for your loss. Shawn will be missed greatly. I first met Shawn about fourteen years ago when Dan Goodfellow and I attended one of his training seminars in Tilsonburg. He later taught a kickboxing certification in Owen Sound. I will always cherish the autographed pic of him and the one thing he said to me before leaving that day "you should put on a few more pounds so we could fight sometime." Hunter Jarvis |

| Message | Shawn was one of the greatest men in Mixed Martial Arts. He was my first MMA coach and one of the true Canadian MMA pioneers. He was an inspiration and a future for all of the up and coming fighters in Ontario before legalization. Anyone from Adrenaline who wanted to fight knew if they could do enough, Shawn was in Vegas and could hook you up. Every where and everyone who ran across The Coach could not help but be impressed. He was always there for his students and always willing to give you a few minutes if you weren't. Always working for not just the good of his students but the good of the sport in general. I hope we all can learn from his examples on professionalism in MMA, men like him are few and far between. I hope all the best for Mark, Sam, Chris, Shawn's wife Emilie and his entire family. The world lost a great man. My family's blessings go out to you all. |

| Message | Shawn Tompkins was a great human being, a brilliant coach, and an inspiring dude. Every time I spoke with him I felt like I became a slightly better human being for the experience. This man had an enormous impact on everyone he met, as is evidenced by the outpouring of grief from the people who knew him. I hope that those closest to him take inspiration from Shawn, and go out into the world and make the lives of the people they meet that much better. Rest in Peace Sir |

| Message | Words cannot express the gut retching sadness i felt when i heard the sudden news. Shawn was an amazing friend and mentor to my little brother (Lorenzo) and he showed utmost compassion, support and respect to us when our little brother died, now 3 yrs ago Aug.16th. I know the pain and sadness of losing a loved one, especially when it occurs suddenly and at such a young age. He has left an unforgettable imprint in the MMA world and his personal characteristics of loyalty, strength and kind nature, make him a mentor/role model to people everywhere. My deepest condolences to his family/friends. |

| Message | Shawn and I first met when I walked into the OLD Team Tompkins gym across from Kelloggs in London ON. I was clueless about the sport and had no idea the amount of work the fighters put in to do what they do so well. Shawn and I started training together and I fell in love with MMA. I found that the training made me feel better, look better and finally I had found an outlet for all of my energy. I went through a hard time personally while training, and Shawn was always there to listen and help me knock out the negative energy (literally!). He's such a talented and dedicated person and I am very privileged to have gotten the chance to know him and train under him. |

| Message | My condolences go out to the "Team Tompkins Family" and his wife Emily for their loss. This is a tragedy to have come at such an early age. The MMA community has lost some of it's shine with the loss of one of the best and most respected people in the sport today. Much respect. Rest well my friend your in God corner now!!!! |
