MessageI first met Shawn when I was working at a Local Bar in London, called the Ridout Tavern. The Ridout was a very Interesting place to Work, to say the Least!

It was not uncommon for Brawls to break out at all areas of the 18,000sq. Ft. Bar. One night when I was working there was this blonde haired guy that was standing near me, and we started talking about Fights, and other things, when a Brawl started then I jumped in by myself, and this guy came in to Help me out.

That is the first time I met him, and then we hung out for a while, then I ended up moving to Toronto. I found out when I visited back to London that Shawn opened a Training Center across the street from my Father in Laws Commercial Rental Building on King St. In London.

I went in to see him and spoke a few times on other Visits, then I heard he was doing the UFC gig. I was Happy for him as this was his Dream.

I have followed his progress and Accomplishments, then we ran into each other again in London, with Tony Lee, and Toufic. We Partied for the Night, then I did not see him again until yesterday at his Memorial Service in London.

He was a Cool Guy who had a Strong Personality and lived life on His Terms! I have never met a Guy like him ever!

I am Happy he got to Live His Dream!

I paid my Respects to Emilie and Sam, and the rest of his Family yesterday. It was really hard to be there, but I kept thinking of his Dry Humor, and the fact that he touched so many Lives.

Thanks Dude!

Ed.

MessageI had the pleasure of meeting Shawn last year, and he was one of the most approachable personalities I've ever come across as an MMA journalist. He was very warm and welcoming, and his smile was infectious. To see someone as young as him pass is tremendously heartbreaking.

I ran into Shawn late last month at Rama, where again, he was so respectful and approachable.

I will remember him as being not only one of the best coaches in the game, but a true gentlemen as well.

My condolences go out to Emilie, the rest of his family and Team Tompkins. He will be dearly missed.

R.I.P. Coach.

MessageI guess GOD needed a striking coach so he called for the best!! This world has lost a great teacher but most of all a classy smart caring person who would have giving the shirt of his back to a complete stranger and signed. He will be missed

MessageYou had blossomed into a young successful man, whose peddles had dropped into the hands of the people you loved and grew to know you. And those peddles had been passed to so many people who became your crew. May you look upon your wife and family like the Angel you are now,and shine above them as you were, and always remain to be,a shiny new Star. Their pain and love in their hearts will never go away. But the warmth of your love to them and memories, will always remain in their memory forever from day to day. What you showed, and taught those who came across you while you were here, remain within their souls, hearts and minds as their defense to overcome their fears. You are now a child of God and an angel with strong wings. Rest in peace, and know that you shall not be forgotten by all cause to them, you were everything. A dedication to Shawn Tompkins. To his wife and family I pray for your strength and your courage.God Bless you all.XO Written By:Esella L Speziale.
