MessageLike everyone else that met Shawn I too was impressed with his magnetic personality the first time our paths crossed. When I was getting the MMA Expo concept off the ground in 2004 I was new to the space and tight on budget. Shawn was one of the first instructors to step forward with advice and an offer to provide seminars on the show floor all weekend, at no charge - anything he could do to help me and help MMA. I am so glad that we were able to have Shawn as one of our instructors at MMA Expo Vancouver just weeks ago. Always an absolute pleasure to be with. Sadly, the sport lost a great Coach… and the planet lost one of the nice people I have ever met.

MessageI never met him nor any of his crew. But i first 'knew' him through Chris's match in IFL. And man, i was blown away by 'who this coach was'.

He may not have cemented his status in comps, but he cemented it through a lifelong legacy...MMA COACH!!

Deepest sympathies & condolence to his wife, Sam and the boys who loved him dearly!!

I only wished ...I can inspire my guys/gals the way he did...RIP Shawn 'The Coach' Tompkins...

Malaysia knows you and your endearing legacy!!

MessageI trained at Tapout in Las Vegas a couple of years ogo. I trained very little with Sean as I was an ametuer, but could see the passion he had for MMA. He had so much to offer and he will be missed. Only the good die young! God bless the family of Sean and may his love for MMA live forever. Amen

MessageTeam Tompkins & Emily:

It truly was an honor to have met you & become your friend! Still hard for me to believe that you are actually gone "Coach" Shawn Tompkins. When I heard the devistating news, Cheree, and I were going over our pictures, which included you, M, Chris Horodecki, Sam Stout, Junie Browning, etc. We are going to miss you bro! Thank you for inviting me into your life, as many people in the MMA world tend to be distant, and judge. You never did and I appreciate you for that. We are here for you & the team! R.I.P. as you will never be forgotten.

MessageThough I wasn't lucky enough to meet Shawn, I always took any chance to read anything I could about him or by him. It could be a magazine article, or a training book. If it had Shawn Tompkins name on it, I had to read it. As an up and coming MMA fighter, I always had dreams of training with the greats, but Shawn stood out. I wanted to train with him more than anybody else, and i would have given anything to do it. Sadly, I will no longer have that oppertunity. Shawn's lie was taken way too soon, and to be honest, it makes me sad. I can't imagine how people who haven known him are taking this. My sympathies go out to his fighters, friends, and family. MMA, as well as society, lost a valuable addition on Marh 16th. RIP Shawn, you'll be missed acrossed the world.
