| Message | hello joan, I am a former student of your from back in the mid 1980's. your impact on my life has been large. I have recently enjoyed reconnecting with you by reading Growing, Older. I can hear your voice telling these stories, and I can imagine your garden. I had finished the read, and several days later then I received a TC newsletter and I knew that there might be something about you in this edition, and there was a story about the documentary about your work in which I get to lay eyes on that garden, which is even more glorious to behold with my eyes than it had been with my imaginings. thanks for all that you have given me/us. with warm regards, rochelle sirota |

| Message | Hello Joan, I had met you at the Garden Club of America's Annual Meeting several years ago in New Jersey. You were one of our keynote speakers. I am Anne Hall's daughter (wife of the sadly late, but wonderful Dr. Ross Hume Hall). I am on the Horticulture Committee for The Garden Club of Virginia. We host an educational joint Conservation and Horticulture Workshop in September and was interested to know how much you charge for speaking engagements.
