MessageThanks to all for your encouragement.
Tarantulas molt upside down simply because it is easier. When they are ready to shed the old exoskeleton the carapace will separate and it will begin working its legs free while pushing the old exoskeleton off. During this time the new exoskeleton is very soft and fragile. It cant rely support the weight of the tarantula yet. So, they will lie on their back for some time after completing the molt, allowing the new exoskeleton to harden.

MessageGreat job!! Why do they prefer to be upside down when molting? The first 4 are growing quickly. Maybe you will get some giants out of them. That would be awesome. Love your dedication to these hairy little buggers. Still can't wait to hold one of them.
