MessageAfter having the great opportunity of having the tarantulas and hissers with for about a month. I have to say they are quite delightful and beautiful. I got the honor of video taping the arrival of the three musketeers. What a georgeous threesome. Got to finally hold one and they are so delicate as they investigate your hand. I can't wait to see if the females will except the male and hopefully not eat him. I call him spot since he arrived with a bald spot. Can't help but fall in love with them! I also fell in love withe oldest hisser. He is so large and handsome. Thank you for letting me sit for you. Keep up the great work!!!!! smilie

MessageHi, your blog is really great. I love the pics. I just bought a G. pulchra .75 a week ago. The lil' stinker has grown a lot already. It loves to eat! I have 10 Ts in all, 1 G. rosea sub-adult female & 9 slings of various species. My pulchra was very light in color when it arrived, now its' rear is almost solid black, it looks awesome already!
I'll check back from time to time & see how your "herd" is doing.

MessageJust got my very first G. Pulchra. The info you have on this site thus far has been some of the best & most-detailed I've been able to find apart from forums.

Keep it up & thanks for your dedication! Love these lil critters.

Messagesmilie nice collection m8..
not long got myself a m n female, they are in a large tank 2gether seperated by some chicken wire.
can they live 2 gether?, or when do u know when they are ready to mate?. appreciate any help..
also got 09 Beautiful Nile monitor - red iguana - 2 royal pythons n a jungle carpet python.. ohhhh and 5 dogs lol smilie
peace kris...cum on England sort it out.. smilie ---------Hey kris, sorry for the delayed response. I would be very leery about keeping two T's together in the same enclosure, especially with "chicken wire" as a separator. The male is mature when he develops tibial spurs, and his pedipalps become enlarged for sperm collection and delivery. Females are generally mature by the time they reach 5"-6" diagonal leg span. The male will begin to tap, or "drum"when he is ready to find a female. When the female feels the vibrations of this drumming she will respond in kind. I will send you some articles to read.

MessageThanks for the info on the Blacks. I'm new to this T and plan to follow what you on thw journey. My 3 seem to be doing well at the moment. Wish I knew why two died though. We need to set up a bloodline database so as to keep the lines separated too.

MessageUpdate on the A. metallicas - They are doing great! Castor and Pollux are side by side in their homes and are mirroring each others actions. The hammocks they have built are almost identical and the same height above the strate.

It was a great pleasure to meet you; may your efforts to increase the number and improve the availability of the black beauties be fruitful and you enjoy caring for these wonders for many, many ----------------------- Larry, I am glad you are happy with them, and they have a good home and great caretaker. I was very pleased to meet you as well. --Scoolman
