Thank you for visiting my guest book. Thanks to those who have signed it, stating who you're looking for, and about your roots. Do you know the province or area in Poland your family was from? Did your relatives immigrate to America, another country, or is your family still in Poland? I love hearing other people's stories. I find it inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Julie

Note:  In the blog title section, under "pages" there is now a "blog title surname index" page. This index I created is for names you write about. If you would like your guestbook post to be a blog post, let me know and I'd be happy to share your story.

MessageHello to all,

I am seeking information on my paternal grandmother's family, my great grandparents and her family. My grandmother's maiden name was Zofia Rosenthal. She was born between 1883-1885. She may or may not have been born in Zywiec, but definately lived there in her younger life. She may have married a man with the last name of Grabek before leaving for the USA. She immigrated to the USA in 1905. She had an older sister, Frances, and a younger sister, Rose. The family may have also lived in other towns near Zywiec. Any assistance in locating information on my family would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

-Dennis

MessageI am looking for my Fathers family...I believed he was born around 1926 and lived in Krakow, Poland. He mentioned he had a brother Nicholas, who was a pilot during the war. His father apparently was a post master and a tailor. He was in a concentration camp and that is all I know. He never mentioned anything else and has recently passed. I would love to find our relatives if I could but believe I don't have enough information. He did mention he had a sister and other siblings but was vague. He said his name was Bronislav Kashmir Marszowski (not sure of the correct spelling) there are no legal documents.

Thank you

MessageHello everybody,
It is very interesting for me to read the stories about Sanetra family members. My father, Adam Sanetra, was born in 1915 in Zabłocie/Żywiec, as the son of Karol and Aniela. I do not know if there are any links between his family and families mentioned in this blog, but maybe someone would find it helpful?.. Gretings from Cieszyn, Poland..smilie

MessageHello!
I just saw your website and there is this "unknown wedding picture". This is the uncle and aunt of my grandma. I have this picture also as an original since my grandma died in 1994.
Maybe we can stay in contact.

Regards!

Dirk

MessageHello Carl,
Thank you for finding me! I hope to soon find out the connection between our families. I know from several records that your grandmother Franciszka Sanetra and her brother Ludwig (or Louis) Sanetra were from Zywiec-Zablocie Poland, the same place as my Sanetra's. And I know that your families (Franciszka and Ludwig), and a Michel Sanetra, and a Jozef Sanetra all lived within blocks of my ancestor Adam Sanetra in Chicago. They all immigrated close together, and were close in age. So I guess that they had to at least know eachother. The Jozef Sanetra (in Chicago) married Rozalia Mrozek and this family later settled in LaPorte, Indiana. These Chicago Sanetras are all close in age and could easily be cousins. I have my "pedigree line" of Sanetras going back to 1774. Adam Sanetra's parents were Jozef Sanetra and Franciszka Gowin. But I don't know any of this Jozef's siblings. And that is where I believe these families all most likely connect. I do have a few parish records I hope to piece some information together from. I also hope to find some helpful records soon, I keep searching. I would love to hear anything you wish to tell me about your family heritage. If you have any memories you wish to share with others, I will be happy to post it on my blog. I was curious if you think your Sanetras look anything like my Sanetra pictures? Thank you,
Julie smilie
