I have talked with Ex-Gay survivors and I know you are going through a living hell right now. I know you know nothing about this site and support yet, but I have faith that you will soon find us and that will give you the strength to break free from where you are at. I believe God created all human beings in God's image and that as such we are good. Jesus' example and commandment was to love each other for who we are. Our sexual orientations are part of who we are and who God created us to be. |

| Message | I continue to be sickened and saddened by the heavy-handed hate-fueled tactics of these abusive, misguided people who have convinced themselves that being gay is some kind of mental illness, and that therapy and prayer will somehow fix it. As ordained clergy myself, I am doubly pained at the idea of the spiritual abuse that is inherent in these beliefs and actions. To imply that one is inherently wrong, distanced from one's creator simply by being one's true self? I can't think of anything more hurtful, on a spiritual and emotional level. Spiritual and LGBT are ~not~ mutually exclusive terms. I am an ordained Reverend, and live completely "out," happily offering compassion to everyone of all perspectives, faiths, and philosophies. Please known that Bryce and Travis remain in my thoughts and prayers. As for Mrs. Griffith and the other folks behind this tragedy? I offer prayers that they be granted compassion and insight - for they are SORELY lacking both. |
