MessageBryce, I can't imagine what you're going through. I know it's horrible though, hurtful, humiliating, relentless, & that it is going to be incredibly difficult to hold on to what you *know* about yourself, that you are gay & that it is all right. There's nothing wrong with you. This isn't something you are doing to reject your parents or God. It is simply part of who you are & sadly still widely unacceptable to so many others. Your parents & the people you're now facing are monstrously, blindly selfish. Their concern is for themselves, not you, although they want you to believe that. No one who cares for you & who you are would want or do this, regardless of their beliefs. What is being done to you is grievously wrong & should be illegal. I know what it's like to be in a supercharged, evangelical setting, with large numbers of people being loud & enthusiastic about their convictions & determined that those present who don't feel exactly as they do will come around & see things the same way they do. They don't even need to be direct to be effective. It's shockingly hard to resist the kind of force a mass of people like this can generate & it's easy to begin to entertain doubts about yourself. I know what it feels like after going through just one service. 14 weeks? This is brainwashing of the grossest sort: it will hurt you & like any injury will need healing. I hope you can be rescued from this soon & that the right people will be there to support & help you undo the damage.

MessageBryce, it's time for you to be really plucky. Just walk out and head for your nearest big city and get yourself to any major LGBT support network. Just go into any big newsagent and look through a copy of the local gay magazine or newspaper. Failing that just find any LGBT bar. They'll direct you. Once you find a support network tell them your story and your plight. If they haven't heard about your situation, give them the address of this website so they can read your story, and ask them for temporary assistance. Your studies may have to go on hold for a few years until you get your new life sorted out. But if you are strong you can do it. ALL YOU NEED IS BELIEF IN YOURSELF and DETERMINATION.

MessageHell damn Ex-Gay Ministries...

I wonder what's wrong to be gay. Here in Germany, there are similar organizations, but fortunately not that intensive than in Arkansas... Lately I lost a good friend due to a catholic church organization, brainwashing him, making him to another person and even forbids us to chat.

I hope and pray that a force, stronger than these homophobian dweebs, will give him power to overcome this.
My best wishes to you and all the deepest hopes shall be stars lighting his path through the injustice and intolerance...

Here in Germany, you will have company and sympathizers against this Ex-Gay-Bullshit.
Don't give up, believe you are rescued.
Don't let them brainwash you, I don't know you, but I am very sensitive about this topic. I would like to help you personally, but all I can give you are my wishes and hopes.

You've got good friends, Bryce! Believe in them. They will help you!

Once again, all the best hopes for your safety.

In silence
--- Timo

MessageHang in there Bryce. The people who are attempting to "cure" you are usually so busy flaunting the Bible, guns, and the armed forces (to which they've never belonged) that it's no wonder they want to justify their own choices. I am praying for you.

MessageHi, I hope they find you safe and well. I think its shameful that Bryce's parents are putting him through this. Im gay myself and im thankful that my family accept me for who I am. No loving parent should ever put their child through this.
Anyway, Godbless and I hope you are found safely.

MessageBryce, we're all rooting for you! You may not believe it, but you do have a choice: you can choose to be who you are, or you can choose to deny your real self. I believe in you; you're a strong young man who knows how to keep himself together, that much is certain.

We will find you - we will bring you home to Travis.

MessageDear Bryce: I hope somehow you are seeing these messages of support. You know in your heart who and what you really are and those who have YOUR best interests at heart. If you are able to break away there are those out there, starting with your boyfriend, who love you and will help you move your life forward, including living as an open, happy and proud gay man. This may mean having to separate yourself from your family but they're not willing to accept you for who you are and you'll find as life goes on we create our own families with the people who really provide us with the support we need. Your parents are wrong, there is nothing wrong with you. My husband's parents live in South Dakota and are religious but took me in as their own son from the first time we met and most of their family scattered throughout the midwest were present to attend our wedding in NY six years ago. Religion is supposed to teach compassion and love but that doesn't seem to be emanating from your home life. Be strong and try to get out of there. I wish I could bust you out myself. You look adorable from your photo and I'm sure that you have a wonderful life waiting for you, just be true to yourself and the rest will take care of itself. Sent with loving support, Jonathan

MessageThis young man is as God made him. His parents are flying in the face of God. They don't want the son they were blessed with, they want the male equivalent of a Stopford Wife. They should be charged with psychological assault.

"Little children love one another as I have loved you"

"And the greatest of these is love"
