|Message||The #2s tender (replica of the original) is now sitting in the shop|
|Message||As a young boy growing up in Haiku, Maui HI,I watched #12 do its working servicing Libby McNeil & Libby Pineapple Cannery. At times the engineer would halt the train and wave me to get on for a ride. I would sit in the cab next to the assistant engineer. |
The picture of the bridge which #12 is crossing was located about 250 yards from my home. There are so many stories regarding #12. My family have adopted that picture as our "logo" on t-shirts and polo shirts. Hoping some day I'll be able to visit, "Good ole #12" in your city.

There are no current plans for No. 1, that is at least, until someone wins a lottery and commissions its rebuild, estimated at $1,000,000 or more.
There was some talk several years ago of rebuilding the engine but those plans never came to fruition.
