| Message | I grew up in Mt. P just a few blocks from McMillan park where Old Settlers Village is now located. Part of the village includes one of the three prairie churches from north of town where my grandfather,James A. Wilson preached every Sunday in the '30s and '40s. Our church, First Methodist, was one of several that set up tents and served meals during Old Settlers Days every year and all of our family members worked shifts there. The annual Old Settlers Meeting was a defining event in our lives. |

| Message | Finally, I made the visit to Mt. Pleasant to see Steam Engine #12. Though nothing was happening that day in Sept. 2016, for me it was a dream come true. Thanks to the CEO and to Matt Crull, President, we were allowed into the train barn to see #12. I felt like a kid again back on Maui, climbing all over that engine. So much memories were brought back as I marveled at the engine knowing that once long time ago, I rode in the cab as a very young boy. Many of my friends from Haiku, Maui didn't know the train was still running in Mt. Pleasant. Thank you very much. Mahalo and Aloha   |
