| Message | Assalamu-alaikum to all Sarodi's, It is nice to see that people writing their comments on the guestbook again. I am writing regarding some of viewers comments yes I can speak gujarati even though I was born in England and I am Muslim NRI = Non Resident Indian. Unfortunately I did not have good fortune to go to a gujarati school and sometimes I find the english gujarati hard to read. I do agree with you that people have forgotten gujarati, but I am more concern people do not follow Islam, the prophet mohammad (Sallahu-Alaihee Wasalamm) teachings, sunnats & farz. One of main objectives is to keep connection with gujarati language, Sarod Village, Islam for children who were not born in Sarod, India. I do not understand why there is so much negativity in Indians today there is no positive criticism what I have experience since I made this website. On another matter Ayub Hasan from USA has written many negative views about Sarod I do not agree with his opinions especially about Sarod Muslim males it may of been partially true in past that Indian gujarati's did not give the respect they should do for Muslim Sisters but this is no longer the case. When was last time you have been Sarod because I believe it must of been a long time ago. I challenge you to make own websites of Sarod I will encourage it. P.S. I am not offended by peoples views I am passionate person I am not going sit quietly when I feel people unjustified in their remarks. Do people who criticise actually do any charity work or have any good say for other people has it really come to this Allah Hafiz. |

| Message | Date 2010-10-12 09:27:03 Alhamdulillah, It is good to see increased emphasis on education in Sarod. As a reminder, please note that education of women should be of prime importance in our society. Past generations were notorious for repression and suppression of women by witholding at par education for them. Also, women in Vohra society ( as in others in the subcontinent) were treated like housemaids rather than wives ( this is not the way or tareeqah of our beloved prophet PBUH). Consequently, our current generations bear the burden of this lack of education on behalf of our women old and young. This misunderstanding of the Islamic faith must be dealt with critically at all levels of Sarod society, especially among the ignorant male class that still dominates the village. Men are only given a degree (darajah) of authority over women, they are their providers and caretakers, not their masters. SHURA is of prime importance in the faith - I have never seen our males of the past ever conduct Shura within the family. ( It is the same with muslims in Pakistan, Punjab etc elsewhere - WRONG understanding of Islam when you make family decisions without Shura.) This is for all the ignorant muslim males in Gujarat. Wake up and smell the coffee. Wa Jazakamullah Khairan. |

| Message | Assalamu-Alaikum Belated Eid-ul-Fitr Mubrak may Allah count the holy month of Ramandan in our favours in terms of are prayers and duas. I have some good news for the Sarodi viewers I will be updating some old photographs I found of rebuilt and furbishment of one the masjid in Sarod. I am also expecting memory card from Maulana Iqbal Bhana with additional pictures and data from his trip Sarod a few months back. Please make dua that I can repair his memory card to extract data from it. |
