|Message||I was a seeds fan from the first time I heard of skys voice. The raw sound was something that rock and roll was founded on. I have seen and heard many sounds come and go but his sound remained imbedded in my soul as a sound I could always refer to as home grown music of my generation. Sky will always be referred to as the king of home grown rock and roll to me. I feel his song presence as I write and feel the presence of a soul that we all need more of. |

|Message||I was 'introduced' to the Seeds when I was experimenting with Surf music in the '90s..|
The Seeds, along with the Standels and a few other legends of their era, got me hooked in garage psych rock. Saxon's iconic figure had a profound influence in my musical education.
My favorite song of the band is 'wind blows your hair'; the intro. of that song is electrifying in a frightening, yet magical way.
I was glad to see the 'new' band live (ca. in 2006); yet, Sky's performance was less than perfect. Better to remember him from his recordings and appearances on vintage videos on youtube!
R.I.P, dear friend, up in the SKY, where you belong!

|Message||I believe it was the summer '66 after graduation and the next summer '67. As an ol' hippie/beach bum our tribe would rock with all the LA bands, the Turtles, the Doors, Buffalo Springfield, Strawberry alarm clock and yes the Seeds. The album cover and name told it all about our tribe and who we were in the 60's. I believe we would all LOVE just one more day/night/weekend/summer to enjoy that feeling we got in our youth listening and party'n to LA's garage bands. Sky and his band the Seeds was played from the heart to our hearts with true LOVE, Love of everything good about our tribes youth! The 60's was and will Forever be part of who America was and The Seeds played a BIG part in my tribe's history. We played and partied hard (Pushing to Hard) and as we moved on and things changed in our lives one thing always stayed the same, our music, and even today when we hear that first lick....We're there all over again.........FOREVER YOUNG! party on, LOVE Johnnie|

REST IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!
|Message||Sky and I were in a relationship for many years. We resided together in Seattle, WA in the Wallingford district, and then moved to Capital Hill. Sky worked with several local musicians and formed a few different bands during that time. Wolf Pack was one of the bands. I attended many recording sessions, and also collaborated on a few songs. |
Sky performed at The Ballard Firehouse, The Crocodile,
Under the Rail, and the Ditto Club, to name a few.
He also had a guest spot at the Warfield, it was completely uplanned and spontaneous, we just happened to be in the audience and we were invited backstage and he was
invited to join in on one song with a punk rock band from the East Coast.
I miss you soooooooooooooo much, Sky!

I discovered the beauty and brilliance of The Seeds in my final year at university, having read about their appearance in the film "Psych-Out". I now own all their albums and the "Pushin' Too Hard- The Best of The Seeds" cd plus one of Sky's solo albums and I intend to collect more.
They were truly an incredible band. Sky is one of my heroes, as is Jan Savage who I rate highly as a guitarist. Daryl Hooper and Rick Andridge were also brilliant. They are my favourite band and my bandmates have to constantly listen to me rambling on and on about how much I worship their music.
Sky has had a profound influence on myself. Originally I sought fame and fortune through playing music but now I know we are all the same and there is more beauty through peace and love rather than through greed and corruption.
I am also a writer and I have been gathering sources on Sky and the Seeds. I am planning to write a long detailed essay/article on them.Perhaps once I have completed it I may post it on facebook for fans to read?
Sky Saxon Forever!!!
