MessageI went to Radioman A school in Bainbridge Maryland
in 1973. I met my husband there. After graduation, I was stationed in NavComSta at
Ft Allen in Ponce Puerto Rico. My husband went to the USS Forrest Sherman in Rhode Island. I was assigned to Tech Control. I was later TDI to Roosevelt Roads in Ceiba Puerto Rico. Our daughter
was born there. I have many fond memories of the friends I've made during my short Naval career.

MessageI retired from the Royal New Zealand Navy as a Chief Petty Officer Radio Supervisor (USN equvilent RMC). I had a lot to do with Comm Third Flt, Fleet Training Group Pearl Harbor, RIMPAC, FLEETEX out of San Diego. I always thoroughly enjoyed my communication relationship with the USN. I certainly miss those wonderful social days, in particular the Chiefs Club at Makalapa Pearl. smilie

MessageHello to all of you " Static Fanatics out there.
Was in the from 56 to 60. Went to boot and RM A school at Bainbridge MD.

Went aboard the USS New DDE818 for TAD then to the USS Damato DDE871 for a little over three yrs, ending up as RM2.

Love CW and got my Ham ticket , N1HEZ.

Just returned from a trip to Cutler ME where the Cutler Naval Comm Sta is located. It is an unbelievable sight with 850 to 1000 ft towers.
It put out 2 million watts. A smilie lot more then my TBM!.

Would like to talk to anyone who was stationed up there.

Doesnt look like the liberty was to good as it is in a remote part of the Maine coast .

Good health to all.
