Type of CancerHemangiosarcoma
MessageThis is the 2nd time in less than 6 months I'm posting on here. We lost our Scout to hemangiosarcoma in April & now Tori has a mass on her spleen. She had an episode on Thursday where she was off balance & couldn't walk. We took her to the vet & they were unsure so did blood work & on Friday it came back she was severely anemic. So Friday evening took her back for x rays & found a mass on her spleen. They gave her prednisone & are waiting to hear back to see what the other vets think. We just adopted her in December & she just turned 13, which is old for a lab, so we don't want to put her through such a major surgery at that age, Scout was only 11 when he went through his cancer. Right now she seems her happy silly self & we want to remember her that way & let her live out whatever time she has left happy. It just breaks our hearts, since we just went through this horrible situation a few months ago & are doing it all over again, it's like a nightmare come true. It is just awful not knowing when the internal bleeding & more than likely the end will happen. I try to put on a smile & am loving her as much as I possibly can, but am just absolutely heartbroken.....

Type of CancerHemangiosarcoma
MessageOur sweet girl Mandy who is 10 had a tumor on her spleen that ruptured. She had a spleenectomy in August and the biopsy showed that it was a hemangiosarcoma, which is a very aggressive cancer. They told us she probably has about 3 months to live. She is doing really well at the moment, has a very good appetite and still loves going for walks! Please pray that we will know when it is time, so that she will not have to suffer, or have to experience alot of pain. She has been such a blessing to our family, a wonderful gift from God and will be missed more than words can express. I was so happy to find this site, and will include all your loving companions in my prayers!!

Type of Cancermass on spleen and in the lungs
MessageI had Snaps from the moment he was born. His mother, Ginger died during childbirth so I delivered him myself and nursed him to a thriving puupy and a great dog. He is so good, he has never barked(only in his sleep) and not loud. He was named Snaps ,nots because he snapped, his mother was Ginger. Ginger +Snaps= GingerSnaps like the cookie. He is special to me and all my familybut I am his main caretaker. He is 13 and I can't bare the thought of losing him. I am not letting hil go through an operation to remove the tumor on his spleen as he could die during surgery. I am not putting him through chemotherapy as this could also speed up his death. I knew for a long time in my heart that this would my last year with Snaps as I could see him aging, getting more tired, and his not wanting climb stairs. A mother knows..............and I am his mother the only one he has ever known. Please Dear Jesus make his passing as painless as possible, he is my baby and I can't imagine life without him. I will never get another animal of any kind because I love too much as I too suffer a very long time.If there is a doggy heaven Snaps certainly belongs there he's always been so good ( he has my personality ) .I honestly can say that Snaps could not have had a better life with any other owner. He was meant to be with me and I was meant to be with him. I saw in a store a dog pendant he would wear on his collar. It I Love you Snaps and the day you were born was the happiest daysof my life.7/20/2000

Type of CancerHemangiosarioma of spleen & heart
MessageMy Chloe is 11 years and 10 months old. She is such a good dog & has a heart of gold. She has been getting weaker and weaker and tires easily I noticed weeks ago especially while taking walks she wanted to go back and I put it off as to her getting older. I had her checked at the vet and he said it was probably arthritis even tho I told him she was truly not acting like herself. I took her back a couple times and not until we did blood work to put her on pain meds for what we thought was arthritis did he see how low her red blood cells were and knew then she was very very sick. He then did an ultrasound, x-rays and complete blood tests. He thought it was cancer on her liver because he saw suspicious spots. We had another ultrasound done today (friday) by a specialist which diagnosed her with Hemangiosarioma of the spleen & Heart. He said her liver appears ok. Her breathing has worsened. She is very week. They said we should put her down as soon as possible. My heart is being torn from my chest. I try not to cry in front of her but I cannot control myself. We are having the vet come to our home on Monday at 2:30 to put her to sleep in her bed at home. I think she knows she is dying. She does not want us to leave her side. I'm not so sure she will even make it till Monday. We want to bury her in her favorite spot on top the hill under a pine tree overlooking us while we sit at our pool. That's where she lays in the shade on hot days unless she was in the pool with us <3
