MessageHi, I'm a Taiwanese American guy as well and now that I think about it, most of the negative things you say about Taiwan are particularly true. Now I'm having second thoughts about teaching in Taiwan and finding a Taiwanese girlfriend.

MessageI've been here in Cebu for a week and having trouble finding a girl. I'm mexican-american,27, decent looking guy, and fit build. Maybe I'm too shy? I get asked if I'm married and I say no.I try talking to girls but all they do is giggle and run like little girls. Should I be more forward in pursuing a girl?

MessageLiking what I'm reading but can we have some pictures of good-looking guys abroad? Get one of your female friends to do it for you smilie . Anyway! I just wanted to share a quick anticdote. A friend of mine travelled to America (LA) for work and when he arrived at his hotel decided to go for a walk. He noticed people staring at him as they drove passed and thought nothing of it. At the office the next day he brought it up and his work colleague replied "oh they would have thought you were homeless, because nobody walks in LA", he went on to say "they would have been thinking, gee, he's a well dressed homeless guy!". smilie smilie To me that kind of sums up the spirit of America in a nutshell; walking equates to ‘poor person’, not taking in the sites and the culture or getting some exercise. BTW, I’ve visited America 3 times and I couldn’t agree more with your insights.

MessageWinston:

I have enjoyed reading the articles and postings on your website. I am an Asian American male who is recently divorced after a long marriage and returning to the dating scene now in my 50s. It is a very depressing scene out there. I look forward to traveling abroad for more success!

MessageHi Winston,
I enjoy reading about your success in the Philippines. I am a educated, successful, outgoing, friendly, 53 year old, divorced man located in southern California who is sick of bellow average, fat woman here acting hot and stuck up. My question is do you have a guide for someone like me to start a business or earn money over there? I am thinking that an internet type of business would be the best. Your help in any way will be much appreciated.
Take Care

MessageI am from Bellingham and you are 100% right on! I've been baffled for a long time as to why I am so depressed living here when everyone seems to think this is the best town in the world! Hope you're having fun wherever you are, wish I could join ya but I'm still under the curse of bellingham apparently!

MessageCongratulations to you for solving your loneliness problem -- and for not accepting the idea that it was somehow "your fault"! You found a way to make yourself happy. Many of us never succeed at that, so my hat is off to you, your perseverance and your problem-solving ability. Cheers!
