Natalie Portman was simultaneously hauntingly equisite and demented. Loved The Wrestler too. First time I have ever taken the time to write to a director - but had to. Good job ! Best Mike |

| Message | I was wondering why I can't get to The Fountain commentary anymore :(. Hopefully it's because WB realized that you ARE "marketable" and put it on some special edition re-release dvd. But if it's not sucked up in some legal/promo mumbo-jumbo do "you" (your web-designer, manager, lawyer, intern, whoever reads this and has the power to...) think you could return/repost it? I have always enjoyed "Requiem..." (it was how I got sucked into one of those "free" DVD of the month clubs!). I wish you the best on Black Swan in the awards and I hope you enjoy working with Mr. Jackman again on "The Wolverine." I recently read some wonderful stuff you put in "Fast, Cheap, & Under Control" about PI. I hope to use your 6 rules in life as well as take to heart the lessons on sharing the "wealth" and other things. Thank you for your time and what you do. Maybe one day I will be in Hollywood as well, if only working as a grip for you, if only so much more. |

Anyway, have you ever read Irvine Welsh's Marabou Stork Nightmares? It would make a fabulous film with your special touch on it...just a suggestion. |

| Message | Hi Darren, I went to see your film "BLACK SWAN" lastnight & was very,very disturbed at some of the scenes I saw & language in this movie too!! I myself as a young girl did Ballet & dreamed of being in the "New York City Ballet",which never happened for me!! Such is life & by the way the best parts in my humble opinion of your movie were the ballet rehearsals & the final ballet performances for the audience!!
