| Message | Hi Darren, Im a horror buff and i came across Requiem For a Dream (RFAD) in 2011! To be honest, i had never heard of you and i thought Black Swan was a ballet flick (?!?). I was 22 when RFAD came out and i dont even remember it! After watching RFAD, i have become truly amazed and grateful for your talent and innovative approach. The movie was extremely moving and i believe it to be a cult classic. I watched Black Swan and Pi more recently and have become a fan of yours. Its become a mission for me to spread the RFAD message. I have been letting people at work borrow it because i think it is an important movie. I want my loved ones to watch it at some stage in their lives. ps: I'm happy you refused to cut the film scenes and instead released it unrated. It shows your commitment to art over commercialism. |

| Message | All I want to say is that I think it's really f***** up that you didn't pay some sort of tribute to Satoshi Kon. You can not say that Perfect Blue was not an influence for Black Swan. You purchased the rights for it in 2000, for the Requiem scene, correct? You cannot deny to anyone in their right mind that have seen both films that you did not rip that movie off. It makes me sick that you didn't pay tribute to him even as he was dying of pancreatic cancer. Wow. Just wow. Go f*** yourself. |
