MessageI think that THE FOUNTAIN is a masterpiece. How did you do to convince a huge studio like Warner Bros to produce such an unconventional movie?

MessageHey,

You may think this is weird but i am a producer and i am sitting in an edit. My editor has suggested i write you to see if we're related.

You see, my mother's maiden name is Aronofsky.
She comes from New Jersey. My grandfather had a stationery store called Abes in Hoboken. I think his name was Abraham.

I was Born in Far Rockaway in 1963.

I told my editor i didn't think we were related but how many aronofskys are there in the world?

So i thought i would just check in.

What do you think?

Andy

MessageHello Mr. Aronofsky,
Thank you for an extremely riveting and enjoyable body of work! I have been a fan since seeing Pi when it was first released on video. Although I have not had the pleasure of seeing your work on the big screen, I have purchased every film for my personal library. Thank you for showing intelligence and controversy in your films; thoughtful cinema is far too few nowadays and your thoughtful exploration of such a diverse set of topics has been a continuing source of interest for me. Even more meaningful for me is your accurate, sometimes ascerbic portrayal of Jewish people. Like you, I am one of the chosen people and appreciate your wit and honest candor about some of our people's weeknesses and foibles along with the richness and strength of our culture...mazel tov! I am eagerly awaiting Noah as I had anticipated all of your films' releases - I am sure that you will use your keen cinematic eye and crisp dialogue to again take me and others on an adventure outside the realm of our modern-day reality. I cannot wait to see the film and sincerely hope it is a critical and financial success for you!! Best,
Efrem

Messagedude i worship you. this piece of c**p (censored by the software) i made years ago:

(link in website line)

was a composite test representing some ideas not yet reflected in film (other than matrix or GITS). specifically the transition from only organic humans, to humans with cybernetic connections, portrayed realistically....believable cyborgs.

the world needs (and is ready for) an intelligent ghost in the shell type film. this video i made doesn't show it what i feel im capable of creating, but regardless.....i would love to be a part, in any way, of making an intelligent film which portrays a very different but very believable near future......

not dystopian, that's too obvious. each member of a diverse group of characters and factions vying for power thinks they're in the right, but each of them goes to both noble and deceptive means. as such everyone is considered morally ambiguous by the masses, but that's only by today's standards.

which is exactly the point.... what the masses believe now, will not be what the masses of the future believe. everything changes...and the pace of change is getting faster and faster....would you still fight for humanity, do you still want humanity to prosper.... even if its not the humanity you believe in.....or, even a humanity you recognize?

im not s****d, i know you dont read this. was fun writing though.

MessageMr. Aronofsky,

Please accept my appreciation in sharing with you that Black Swan was masterfully directed and totally blew me away. Thank you for making such a beautiful film. In most cases, I lean towards action films but there were such strong emotions throughout the film in the music and the actors, that it might as well have been an action film. There are less than 5 films that have actually dropped my jaw and yours was one of them. Keep up the great work! The art of cinema is alive and well. You've given a movie buff hope!

Thanks again,

MessageHello Mr Aranofsky,

First off I'm a fan of all your work and I have a particular affection of The Fountain. During that she period I lost my brother in the winter of 2005 to his own end. I could easily relate to the character's frustration therefore. I chose The Fountain for my final paper for an Intro To Film Class. I wish to ask if you could direct me to where I might find your commentary of the movie as it has been removed from this site? Thanks so much and looking forward to your future projects, I trust they will be more than meets the eye as always. my

Regards,

Hervey Lamothe.
