MessageI'm very sad to find out that we will not be able to enjoy your lights this year. I've already told many families who have moved into the area (mostly Ft Belvoir) and one family has told me how they were looking forward to going by on Christmas eve. I'm going to let everyone I can know that they will have to wait for next year.
I hope that all goes better nest year!! I've always thought how wonderful that you did this, especially since you are located across the street from the ManorCare place ....
Is it possible to see how community volunteers could get together to help you in the future????
Anyway, I hope that the coming year is better for all of us!!

By doing that we can have twice as many presents to deliver in 2014. We expect the same from you. If you skip 2012, 2013 better be twice as good. We even called the Power Company and told them to install some megawatt circuits to your home. Even if LEDs use less power, you will have so many of them you will need the extra umph.
Regards and Happy holidays,
The deer team

MessageDear Mr Vaughn,
Us reindeer have a problem this year. For the last 20+ years when we want to deliver our toys to Alexandria VA, we always looked for your huge celebration of lights. I hear that this year they will not be on. We are dumbfounded on how we will find Collingwood Road in Alexandria.
We had a pow-wow and we came up with an great idea. You know, Rudolf is a single reindeer. He hangs with us because he a lonely. Rudolf is always looking for a female reindeer with a “shinny” nose. Do you think you can set up one reindeer and put one red bulb in her nose so Rudy can look for this light. He will then lead the sleigh to Alexandria. If you can, please make the bulb an incandesent one. Them new reindeer with LED noses are just too young and frisky for old Rudy. We don’t want to kill him. We would really appreciate that.
Last year dancer liked the fish jumping over the stream. We also had to open some presents to find a portable FM radio to listen to the music that you broadcast on FM radio. Rest assured, after we used the radio we re-wrapped it. The year before Prancer really liked the flashing stars. Vixen thought the Santa in the window was neat and he could not figure out how Santa could be in two places at once. Cupid liked when all the lights went out for a few seconds so he could smooch with Vixen.
Anyhow, thanks for doing this every year. We want to talk to you after Christmas to figure out how WE can take a year off.
