| Message | Hi there, I, too have been a fan of The Shadows and of Hank ever since I first heard "Apache" on the radio. Trying to copy their first great hit, I taught myself to play the guitar and have done so ever since. Now that I'm 60, I've given up performing in public, but I am still playing at home. Exclusively Shadows Music, naturally. Although I've always just played semi-professionally, I recorded two CD's in my home studio with Shadows music. I did all the instruments and vocals myself and the CD's were marketed perfectly legally via SABAM Belgium. If you like, and let me know your address, I will send you a CD with some material ! | Message | This is a great site, a fiting tribute to one of the greates guitarpayers. As a devoted fan myself,I know how it feels to meet Hank and the other Shads. The man himself is modest and very friendly,always a good word and genuie interestet in you as a (music)person.... Hank always joked that if he needed a guitar,he'll borowed from my collection... | Message | dearest Hank, I just found out that you are the one playing all these guitar pieces that I heard first time when I was five years old. I was born and greew up in the Philippines and for a long long time I do not know who was playing those guitar music. Thanks for YOUTUBE, I found you (well, only your music.) I love every one of them... I was born in the year '56. I just can't help myself looking at you when you're playing through youtube... Thanks also i found these website. I'm one of your fans. |

| Message | In 1958 I was only 10 when I first heard the Shadows. Since then I have always added their music to my collection in all formats including LP's or CDs. Hank Marvin has influenced so many people that it would be hard to list. I am one of them that have enjoyed them immensely. History will always say that the music that the Shadows created was original and very uplifting. Hank Marvin - you are the best and nobody comes close. Enjoy and hope to hear from you soon in a form of good music. |
