(Again, quoting Nava & Dawidoff.) THAT is the true reason for my blogspot's being hidden from sight behind an interstitial. It is not any particular drawing of mine that drew the complainees' wrath, but the unembarrassed, life-and-love-affirming celebration of s a m e - s e x love (or embarrassingly undeniable proof of h e t e r o s e x u a l s' violent intrusion upon that love); my unashamed and unabashed love, respect and desire for the (mainly fictitious) characters (diametrically opposed in every way to the demeaning s e x u a l objectification, "Bunny-fication," of the female as practiced by far too many straight men and which feminists have, for decades, railed against in vain) that is evident in many of my drawings, and last, but certainly not least, the political dismantling of the ideology lurking behind compulsory h e t e r o s e x u a l i t y. | Message | [...cont'd...] My artwork is both political and liberating in that it unabashedly celebrates the beauty and desirability of the stocky, older male (thus violating one of straight society's most ruthlessly enforced dictates), while revealing and decrying the many insidious mechanisms of consciousness/behavioral control h e t e r o s e x u a l society employs in order to cripple these men emotionally, keep them ignorant and/or frightened of their natural urges, or terrified of the social consequences should they dare "step out of line" ... the easier to manipulate and exploit them for Church, State, military, or other purposes. | Message | Dear John, [Am posting this in separate mails due to limited space.] This is to let you know, John, how much I appreciate your supportive comments. And thanks ever so much for offering to sign your name on a petition should blogspot.com dare resort to even more drastic measures! As you can see, they have yet to rescind the insidious political tactics involved in this insulting treatment of my blogspot -- as if it were a p o r n site of absolutely no redeeming social or political value, when, in fact, the "H e t e r o s e x u a l i t y? What H e t e r o s e x u a l i t y" and "History Sections," and, to a lesser degree, my artwork itself, continue to provide a devastating critique of h e t e r o s e x u a l power structures which continue to thrive on our oppression, while also exposing, challenging and combating the h e t e r o s e x u a l domination of politics, public discourse, and the media, including, of course, the arts. This insulting wholesale "p o r n o g r a p h i z a t i o n" of my blogspot represents one of many political tools straight society has resorted to in the past 150 to 200 years in order to oppress, dehumanize, silence and isolate h o m o s e x u a l men and women, or render them invisible. | Message | Just as an addendum to my previous entry to this guest book... Those words that I have interspaced would not pass the guestbook filter when typed in their normal form. Nor were the words identified... I had to play around with the text a bit before I knew what the problem was! I think your work would be better off in a less stifling environment, away from the influence of tiny minds. | Message | Hi Dean, I was disappointed to find a warning stating that some readers found the content of your site objectionable despite being explicitly warned of the theme of this site by yourself at the head of your blog. Please console yourself in the knowledge that the complaints come from people who are clearly either illiterate or unwilling to read the introduction to your site and therefore ignorant. If blogspot have age restrictions in mind (understandable), they should find less offensive ways of implementing them, preferably without resorting to age-clearance services that are associated with the p o r n industry. Should the need arise to petition blogspot, ie. in the event of further unreasonable restrictions or notices being imposed on your blog, I will be happy to sign on your behalf as I am sure will many others from around the world. I have never seen any evidence of depravity, violence, rudeness or indeed anything outside of what you describe as being the theme of this blog, the appreciation of mature men and aspects of their s e x u a l i t y.
