MessageHi Debbie,

Guy Fieri is A LOT better, though, than some of those folks who are on, who CANNOT cook.

About the ingredients, I assume that in the taping of the shows, stuff happens, and the changes in the recipes never make it to the written ones online. That’s why I try to note that if it happens on a show I’m covering.

Leftover béchamel is a dream come true. Make a lasagna or any layered pasta type thing. Spread the leftover béchamel over the top and dot with tomato sauce. Bake as usual. Yum. Or try a Croque Monsieur, a French grilled cheese. Go to about.com and search for Croque Monsieur. (Sorry, I can't put a link here.)

MessageI miss Michael Chirello on Saturdays too! I do not care for the spikey hair guy too much!

do you know why sometimes the recipes and the tv shows do not always show the same ingredient????

Any ideas on what to make with the leftover bechemal cheese sauce from Tyler's Ultimate steak sandwich???

Debbie

MessageHi Joyce,
Thanks for reading. I will try the cake one of these weeks and report to you on it.

I checked out the reviews of the yogurt cake on the FN website. Overall they were good. Did you use WHOLE milk yogurt? Are you possibly undercooking it?

Try this method instead. Whisk the oil with the sugar and flavorings. Whisk in the yogurt. Whisk in the eggs one at a time. Fold in the sifted dry ingredients.

I don't like the idea of adding the oil at the end. That's strange. Give this a try and tell me what happens.

Good luck.

smilie

MessageLove your wit and wisdom. Have you tried Ina's yogurt cake? I have made it several times as I love the flavor and the ease of a loaf cake.

HOWEVER( she screams.) it sinks in the middle no matter what I do. I checked oven temp, size of pan, age of baking powder etc etc and it still collapsed.
I also tried Dorrie Greenspan's original recipe and it also caved in. Any comments or suggestions?

MessageSue, I am so glad to find your blog. Funny, funny stuff. I plan to read it first thing in the mornings the only thing is that I have to ensure that I finish having my breakfast first if not I will have to be cleaning my keyboard and computer screen often.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your kind comments. I have added you to my feeds so that I never miss another of your posts.

MessageI watched Rachael crack those eggs, but I believe she had first squeezed lemon juice into the bowl so what you saw was the yolks falling into the lemon juice smilie
