MessageBeing a bloging virgin I hope the group will put up with my musings from time to time. I love to cook, watch the Food Network more than I should and am currently teaching two of my wife's and mine young friends the basics.

I look forward to chats.

cheesh, could the make the verifcation codes smaller?

MessageMarla,
Interesting!

I'm not that concerned that they've moved Ina in August, but when the Barefoot Contessa comes back with new shows, she better be in her premier Saturday noonish slot.

You're right, the fact that she doesn't have multiple shows on the air is what keeps Ina being Ina.

MessageHi Gladys,
Maybe the problem is the Food Network tried to encompass all of Latin cooking in one host. Perhaps they should have gotten just one superb Puerto Rican cook, for example, and focused on that. Are you available?

MessageI talked with Barbara Libeth in Ina's office the other day and she said that "Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics" will start in October, to coincide with the release of Ina's new cookbook.

The bad news is that, according to the FN August schedule, Ina has been bumped from her Sunday morning slot.

Ina is smart and knows that less is more .. and she won't give up Jeffrey, her friends, or Paris in order to be all over FN. Good for her!

MessageI love the food network, but are you kidding me ?
Ingrid honey my grandma is turning over in her grave....French sauces in a traditonal puerto rican pastellon?!?!@@@*&. If you are about the traditional dishes keep it real. Mexican sausage and turkey....can't even tell you what i think about that crap. Get a Puerto rican cookbook.

MessageHi Lisa,
Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

Ina will have new episodes in the fall, so we have to wait a bit longer. One of the things I love about her is that she doesn't WANT to have 20 shows on at once. She still wants her personal life (with the adorable Jeffrey). But that means her fans have to be patient.

MessageHi there,
Just bumped across your blog. Totally perked up when I saw your mention of Ina. I could NOT believe when FN took her off of twice a day (I watched faithfully everyday at noon; 5 p.m. is not a good time -- cooking dinner, driving kids, etc.) and seem to have sent her out to pasture. I've tried looking around the FN website where they solicit comments and I've found nothing. Do you think that this is a brief hiatus for Ina and that more and bigger and better stuff is coming -- I'm just not into these newbies who do not have the class and elegance of Ina.

MessageSteph,
You're so sweet. That IS exactly the kind of jar I love. But don't worry, you'll be traveling so much that mustard is definitely not what you want to be carrying around. You're a sweetie. Have an awesome time!

Love, Sue
