MessageJulia,
I love your blog, and your philosophy of making a better world and having a good time. I wanted to let you know about my volunteer work at the local prison. I teach decision making skills one-on-one using a program called Thresholds.

This is a men's prison and I am on my 5th student (12 weeks/once a week)The guys I've worked with have had some really really tough lives, and some of the things they've done--well, not good. I always like it, since I love to teach, and also enjoy getting to know people. My current student has a great sense of humor. Thanks again for your blog.

I am thinking about starting my own blog, and I guess I am passionate about writing, humor, and a couple of volunteer work things like Thresholds. Let me know if you have any tips for me.

MessageDear Julia,

Have you seen the latest new book and website project on social entrepreneurship? Would you be willing to blog or write about the new video we just released? Your blog would be a perfect fit!

The Tactics of Hope: How Social Entrepreneurs Are Changing Our World

As the video demonstrates, the book has a companion website (www.TacticsofHope.org), introducing users to a cutting-edge new tool called "My Circle" to connect and engage with leading social entrepreneurs and resources that match your passions. See how it works - and read the endorsement from Bill Drayton and Desmond Tutu here:

Youtube: "Tactics of Hope"

This book is a catalyst for millions, as it is practical, diversely sourced, and deeply inspirational. And it needs your support. I am the passionate contributing editor and I am urging you to pick it up if you have not yet already, and help us tell the stories of social entrepreneurs like Matt and Jessica Flannery of Kiva, Paul Farmer of Partners in Health, and Van Jones of Green for All.

I hope to hear from you soon with interest in helping us support and inspire individuals looking to make a difference in the world.

Warmly,

David Hopkins

MessageHi, I was looking for online groceries. You know how hard it is with the rising gas prices, and I found efooddepot.com. You might want to check it out, it's pretty reasonable too. I didn't know I could buy so many different groceries. You do want to watch your budget though but at least you get a full run for your money.

I came across this food coupon on efooddepot.com, it gives you 10% off everything you buy at the site. Helps save quite a bit if you are tight on budget. Oh, btw, the coupon is called "Food2008".
