| Message | Hi folks. I was in V 3 Feb 61 to Nov 63. Stayed up in hanger deck control most of the time. Our next reunion is at Marriott City Center for 2014 which is in Newport News, Va. The dates are September 21 through the 28th. This is also the 70th anniversary of the old girl and will be looking for a large turnout. As normal, there will be tours plus a large hospitality room to visit in along with refreshments. For more info, please feel free to email me. You don't have to stay the whole times just whatever you can, and have a good time. We have folks from WWII right up to her last days. Stop by and say "Howdy y'all!". | Message | I am writing on behalf of my father, Ralph Richard Corbin, who passed away in 1999. He was a Pharmacist's Mate, and served on the Randolph around 1959. | Message | Yesterday I saw another of the ships the Randolph opperated with heading for the scrap yard.The USS FORRESTAL CVA 59 headed down the delaware river to the scrap yard.It sat in the philadelpia navy yard for a time. |

| Message | The Randolph was my first duty station after boot camp. spent only 6 months aboard until my place in ET school opened up. I spent that six months working in the gunnery department. Really enjoyed it, even swabbing the decks. After I was discharged many years later I returned to my home in New York and got married. I and my wife were on our way to Staten Island to a funeral and I was on a bridge and when I looked ahead and down there was the Randolph tied up to a pier and it was in the process of being scrapped. I felt very sad and empty. |

| Message | I went on board, in 1959-1960. I was a fireman ap and was assigned o N division on the bridge. Red stripes on the bridge. I had to put in request chits, one after the other to get to E-Div. Worked for PO Moore with a third class from Dteroit. Sent to A school in 1960 Stay in Electrical industy all my life. Great Ship and crew. Lt Cunningham and Cdr. Jones were only trying to keep me in N Division and they offered to sent me to QM school. The last request chit to see the Capt. got my transfer. Miss the old gal |

| Message | I was a yeoman and cameaboard while the Randolph was in drydock in Virginia prior to going on its shakedown cruise in the Spring of 1946. I remained aboard during its cruises until it was mothballed in Philadelphia. Wonderful experience for a 17 year old fresh out of high school. |

| Message | Hi,I served on the randolph between 1957 to 1959. I remember having a drink in gitmo and hearing that all personnel were to return to there ships and we headed back to norfolk.We loaded up and then we were off to the eastern part of the med. We operated off the coast of Lebanon for awhile. Anyway I loved every minute on the RANDOO CANDOO |
